Biana POV:
Me and Sam had arrived a few minutes early for the dance so we sat in his car for a little bit until the gym opened. It was quiet awkward in the car. Neither one of us could find a topic that would hold a conversation longer than 1 minute and 23 seconds.
"I really like your dress, it's really pretty," commented Sam in a shaky voice.
"Really? Thank you! Your suit suites you well???" I said, saying the last part awkwardly.
Sam let out a laugh, "Thanks."
The car goes silent.
Sam looks down at his watch, maybe out of habit or anxiety. I'm not sure.
"The gym should be open by now." He says
I look over at Sam who leans forward in his seat, trying to see if the gym lights were on. He looked over and saw me staring. I felt heat rising in my cheeks. Sam offers me a nervous smile and nods, letting me know that the dance was ready. He opened the car door and got out, telling me to wait in the car. I was confused when I saw him coming to the other side of the car to open the door for me.
"Milady," Sam says with a bow as he opens the car door with flair.
I had felt under the weather this morning when I remembered that Keefe wasn't bringing me to the dance, but now, the sun was shining down on me, and my heart welcomed the warmth that filled it. Making me feel whole once again.
I took a step out of the car with courage and surveyed Sam's face once again.
Maybe it was better off this way.
Sam looked up at me and smiled, holding out his hand.
I took it, and we walked off to the gym, hand-in-hand.
Tam POV:
I couldn't get Glimmer's idea out of my mind. Even the loud blast of music that sent everyone half-deaf wasn't enough to get rid of the thoughts. What if someone laughed at us? What if people judge us for just going to the dance? What if someone thought we were getting back together? What if that was Glimmers plan all along? To get people to believe that were together so she can humiliate me? The thoughts circulated my head, swirling around like a tornado, waiting to hit the ground.
"Hey, you good? I'm sorry if what I said was making you nervous. I highly doubt anyone's going to pay attention us lowlifes when theirs going to be some other high school drama going on." Glimmer said, rolling her eyes as she spoke.
I was so caught by one part of her sentence that I couldn't even say a come-back on her 'lowlife' statement.
Other High school drama?
"Well, out flaws don't lead to death, they lead to something much worse," I muttered
Glimmer heard what I was saying "Oh? And what is that?"
"Humiliation" I spat.
Glimmer let out a small laugh, but paused. "Those are some smart words coming out of a lowlife," She chirped.
"Not like you're any better," I growled. My heart skipped a beat as I saw some people look our way, most likely from the bickering.
"Look, if anything happens, we can go home. Just because the party goes on for a while doesn't mean we have to stay for that long," Glimmer commented, trying to find my eyes through my bangs.
"Whatever," I said and used the bathroom excuse to get away from the dance, but what I found was much worse then what I was getting away from.
Keefe POV:
"Sounds like someone's hit the terrible twos."
"Threes actually," Quil corrected. "You missed the party. Princess theme. She made me wear a crown, and then Emily suggested they all try out her new play makeup on me."
"Wow, I'm REALLY sorry I wasn't around to see that."
Don't worry, Emily has pictures. Actually, I look pretty hot."

I wasn't much of a person to say anything, but wow.
Plot twist.
Sophie looked over at me, and I realized I had said the words aloud.
I gulped. This is not what I was expecting. You'd think they would have noticed them when they walked in but no. They were bickering in a corner and everyone was staring. Somehow, they didn't seem to notice. That's when I saw Tam look up and noticed the big eyes that watched him as he walked away from Glimmer, towards a secluded hall that led to the boys bathroom. I wasn't sure what was happening but all I knew was that even after I had left Biana to go to the dance with Sophie, she wasn't here with Tam like I had expected.
I look around the gym to see that Biana wasn't here.
Where could she be?
That's when I heard a gasp and some 'what's made it's rounds around the gym as the DJ stopped the music, realizing that something was happening. Everyone pushed each other, trying to find their way to the dark hall that Tam had disappeared to earlier. I searched for Sophie's hand and gripped it tight when I found it, trying not to lose her in the storm of people who were swarming around the hall like starved pirhanas.
I somehow got pushed to the front, still clutching Sophie's hand in mine until I saw what everyone was gasping about.
I let go of Sophie's hand in surprise.
What is going on?
