Chapter 21:

The beginning of this chapter was made by my bestie, @leek7049 !!!

Tam POV:

I should've listened to what Biana was saying because Linh's been giving me weird smirks. Instead I was confused when she showed up at my doorstep riding on a unicorn, with a hamburger in her hand.

"Biana wha-"

"Bow to me peasant Tam, I am Princess Biana"

"Biana what the heck are you doing?"

"I have to tell you something!"

"What is it"

"Last night... I was going to say I want to make you my bride" Biana said proudly.

"Wait, or was it groom?" Biana whispered to herself, "I can't remember,"

"Umm what?"

"I meant a peasant husband, sorry. Wrong person. I already got Linh's approval, lets go horseback riding in the Atlantic ocean. You know you want to join me on my quest." Biana smirked.

Her voice echoed in my head, everlasting, like a tattoo in my brain.

I awoke in a sweat.

Wow. That was an intense dream.

I closed my eyes before the sun that was peaking through my curtains could burn my eyes but it was too late. I groaned and turned over in my covers, trying to ignore that it was morning. Linh burst through the door, smiling (Which worries me a lot). She skipped her way over to the windows and opened the curtains. The light from outside flooded my room like the water coming up during high-tide. She didn't even flinch when the bright morning sun hit her directly in the eyes.

"Get dressed and come downstairs." Linh said sweetly.

"What? It's a Saturday." I said, confused.

Linh smirked at me, like I was a child. "You have a visitor." Linh said curtly and walked off before I could ask any more questions. Still confused, I changed out of my pajamas, and pulled on a black hoodie and some dark blue jeans. "You almost ready Tam? You don't want to keep your visitor waiting!" Linh called from downstairs.

I groaned, "Coming mom!" I mocked. I quickly checked my hair and trudged to the living room.

"Sorry he took so long," I could here Linh say, "It takes so long for him to put on his makeup,"

I smirked and walked through the archway that led to the living room, but immediately stopped when I saw who was sitting on the couch across from me.

Linh POV:

I let Tam have the luxury of sleeping in, I knew he needed it after the few restless nights he had. I could tell he wasn't sleeping from the dark circles under his eyes, to the sound of footsteps outside in the hall in the night.

I sighed and drank another sip of my peppermint tea. I could feel the warm liquid filling me, it warming my stomach. I took in this moment of silence and peace before Tam woke up.

'DING DONG' went the doorbell, and I rushed to answer it.

I opened the door, and was surprised to see that Sam was their. I smiled, "What are you doing here this early on a Saturday?" I asked.

Sam looked nervous and uneasy, but he responded, "I want to talk with Tam."

I tried to make sure my smile didn't falter, but I could feel the disappointment settling in me like dust would after a heavy wind. I nodded, silently cursing at myself for even thinking that Sam would come here to see me. I led Sam to the living room and asked if he wanted to drink anything, to which he answered with a small shake of his head. I ran up to get Tam to find he was laying down on his bed with his eyes open. I told him Sam was waiting downstairs and walked out before I could hear him protest.

I calmly walked back downstairs. Sam seemed slightly disappointed at the fact that I hadn't brought Tam down with me but I tried to ignore it. "He'll be here soon, he just had to get out of his PJ's" I said.

Sam smiled, "He isn't the only one,"

I suddenly felt very conscious about what I was wearing. I chuckled, "Maybe I should've changed before answering the door,"

Sam seemed to sense that I was slightly hurt, "It's fine," he said reassuringly. I smiled to myself, looking down at the small mermaid cat slippers I was wearing at my feet. The awkward silence was overwhelming, and Tam hadn't come down yet. I yelled upstairs for Tam, and I could hear his footsteps from the living room. The footsteps continued until they came down the stairs and I thought it would be the perfect time to crack a joke.

"Sorry he took so long," I said apologetically, "It takes him so long to put on his makeup,"

Sam smiled at that but it quickly went away when Tam walked into the room. Sam tried to recover and put on a fake smile that didn't reach his eyes. It seemed apologetic.

That's when I decided that I should probably leave for this conversation.

Wow! 812 words! I usually don't write this much in a chapter but I think it's a good length.

I just want to thank everyone for the reads and votes, especially Nat markson, and Strangerthings_kotlc! Your votes and comments make me really happy, and give me more motivation to keep writing! So thank you!

Have a great life!
