Here we are, everyone! The third and final book of my "Love" series. And to be honest, I am really sad! I am also so happy for you guys to explore our final couple. (Nikolai and Ellie) I had so much fun writing their story! And I hope you guys like reading it! I love you all so much!

Ellie's POV:

Love is a lie.

Love is something that I have never once believed in because I have had the worst luck with it.

Ever since I was 16, my brother has followed the Mafia rule that the older brother is supposed to find a husband for their younger sister by the time they are 25.

And if not.

Well. They will more likely remain single for life.

But as I have told him multiple times. I have no interest in the Mafia, unlike him, who is now a Mafia King.

My brother Anthony Brown has always been the most stubborn out of me and him.

And I guess after we were born twins, it makes sense.

My mother, Rosaline Brown, always used to tell us how different me and I were from one another, but how our attitudes were the same.

And after Anthony found his perfect match in Ms. Beverly Jackson, I thought for sure I would have a shot at Love.

I mean. Come on. I swoon every time I see them and their little boy Ace. Who looks just like Anthony.

They have their happy little family, you know. So in love.

While I am here sitting at a restaurant waiting for a date that was supposed to show 30 minutes ago.

I sighed when I thought of the word 'date.' I honestly laugh over it.

But a small part of me wishes that my dad was here.

And although I never met him because he sadly passed before me and my brother were born, I know from my mother's stories that he would have come to pick me up from here in a heartbeat.

A part of me wanted to be this badass that rebelled against love.

While the other side of me longed for love like my brothers or my mothers.

Because everyone knows that my mother and fathers love story was epic.

I won't go into context about it because I have already explained it to so many people.

But. It's a basic Mafia love story if you will, except they hated each other and ended up loving one another.

Oh. And did I mention? That Beverly's father killed mine and Anthony's? Guess not.

But. Don't worry. We don't hold that against Beverly considering all the shit she went through, and because she had nothing to do with it.

But now, she is a happy mother to her son Ace. And her other son on the way. And Anthony could not be happier.

And I was happy for him.

I was happy that he finally quit with the stubbornness and let his guard down for once.

Because now he has an incredible wife and children.

But. I couldn't help but wonder if I was going to get that.

If I was going to feel so consumed by love that I would do anything for that person and want to have their babies and get married and live happily ever after.

****

After sitting in this restaurant for over an hour, I finally called it quits.

Anthony had set me up with someone from his work who seemed like a decent man. But I guess since he decided not to come that he is a total doushe.

I rolled my eyes as I finished my second glass of wine.

My dark brown curls flowed down my back as my red lipstick plastered on the wine glass.

I wore a long black dress that hugged my hips and my curves as my legs were shaved and smooth to a crisp.

I growled as I paid for my bill and grabbed my phone out of my pocket.

I would instally regret this. But I didn't drive, and called Anthony.

I had already had 2 glasses of wine and was almost done with the third, so I didn't feel too comfortable to drive.

I raised the phone to my ear as it began to ring.

And after a few rings.

He finally answered with a simple "Hello."

I sighed. "Well Hello Brother."

I could tell by his silence he was confused. "Shouldn't you be on a date with the guy from my work?"

I chuckled. "Sure. If he would have showed up."

"What?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, your little friend didn't show up. I have been sitting here for at least an hour."

He scoffed as a small growl came from him. "I am going to kill him."

A noise came in the background as his wife Beverly came on.

"Now. How about we don't kill anymore people?" She said.

I couldn't help but smile.

I loved Beverly.

She was so good for Anthony and has a heart of gold.

She was the best mother, someone I envied.

"Thank you, Bev. Appreciate you trying to knock some sense into my brother."

She laughed before Anthony returned to the call.

"So why are you calling me, though?"

I sighed before leaning back into my chair.

"Well. If you must know. I have had a little too much wine. And don't feel comfortable driving. Could you come and pick me up?"

He groaned. "I would say yes. But me and Bev are in the middle of dinner."

I rolled my eyes as I bit the inside of my cheek.

"But." He began to say.

"I think I have someone that can come and pick you up."

I tilted my head to the side, confused.

"Who?" I asked.

I could tell Anthony was smiling into his phone.

"Your best friend."

My brain immediately tried to think of who this could be.

Until one person came to mind.

"God! No! I am not riding with him, Anthony."

He scoffed. "Well. It's him or nothing. So he will be their in 20 bye!" He said really quickly.

"Anthony!" I said as he hung up the phone.

I slammed my phone down on the table as I grabbed the glass and downed the rest of the wine.

Love is a wish from hell.
