Chapter 12 – Theories
The next morning Plo Koon and Obi-Wan met in archives as agreed. They had retreated to a dark corner with a table and several chairs. The human Jedi Master quickly organized his thoughts and took a deep breath. Plo Koon waited and waited and waited. After half an hour, Obi-Wan dared to begin. He told Master Koon about Qui-Gon. What a great master he had been. How he'd learned with him, how he'd had fun with him, and how he'd watched him die. That voice in his head was 100% that of his former master.
After at least two hours, Obi-Wan's breathing returned to normal and he was done. Plo Koon didn't know what to say back. In the end he did say something: "I've never heard of anything like that. But it's possible, I think. Master Yoda could probably tell you more about it." Then something unexpected happened. Plo Koon put his right hand on Obi-Wan's shoulder and looked at him with compassion. "I miss Qui-Gon too. He was a good friend to me, too."
Now, Obi-Wan even managed a small smile. But it died down immediately, for new questions were already swirling in his head. One of them he said aloud: "What should I do now? Wait for Master Yoda to come back from his mission, which could last forever?"
The Keldor shook his head and stood. Obi-Wan followed him as he moved towards Jacosta Nu. The chief librarian smiled good-naturedly at the two masters. "Master Koon. Master Kenobi. What can I do for you?"
Before Obi-Wan could reply, the Keldor had taken sides. "Do you have anything here on manifestations in the Force or something?"
The question seemed to surprise even Jacosta Nu. "It's been a long time since anyone has asked me that," she murmured and walked over to one of the large, highly modernized computers. The Jedi followed her in silence.
The librarian entered a few terms in a search field and then searched in various manuscripts. Master Koon glanced sideways at Obi-Wan. "Ah. Here we have something." She got up immediately and walked over to one of the huge shelves. There she had a droid fetch a large book. It was grey. However, what immediately caught the eye were the light blue stripes that shone brightly. The pages had aged over the past few centuries and were rough to the touch. Jacosta Nu squeezed the book in Obi-Wan's hand.He groaned briefly as he realized the weight of the book. "Oh, that's heavy."
After Obi-Wan thanked the librarian, Plo Koon and him sat down at a table and opened the book. Dust kicked up, releasing an oddly soothing smell. "So," the Keldor began. "Here is something about manifestations of the Force, Force spirits and more. Would this be something for you?" Obi-Wan nodded silently and flipped to the page:
Manifestations of the Force, Spirits of Force, and more
The Force is multifaceted. It comes in thousands of species. Every living creature goes its own way in life. This gives it its own place in the Force. Not much is left of it after death. This is different for creatures with a high Medi-Chlorian value. Every Jedi has a high Medi-Chlorian rating and is absorbed into the living Force upon death. Not much has been learned about this since no one has ever spoken to a dead Jedi. But it would be possible, since a Jedi is very closely connected to the living Force. One possible theory: the Medi-Chlorians of every living Jedi coalesce after death and then transition into the living Force. The soul then "lives on" there. This theory is further reinforced by the fact that a Jedi can use the Force. The basis of the Force are the Medi-Chlorians. Since these are present in large quantities in the Jedi, every Jedi is fundamentally part of the Force.
As soon as Obi-Wan finished reading the passage, he turned to Plo Koon. He seemed very puzzled. "It's possible that Qui-Gon spoke to me out of the Force." This fact seemed to relieve him.
The Keldor, on the other hand, didn't quite know what to make of it. Finally he nodded slightly. "Yes, it's possible. But I'm still not completely convinced."
"And what should I do now?"
"Wait. If you hear such a voice again in the near future, then meditate on it. But wait and see."
oOo
Ahsoka sat in her room, which was assigned to her when she came back to the temple. Of course she knew about the events of the last few days. Plo Koon had told her. Obi-Wan hadn't been in the right composure. Padmé a spy? Never! That was next to impossible. But just sitting here didn't make it any better. She would have liked to run to Anakin and help him. Though Ahsoka didn't know how. Somehow. There was always a solution. After further deliberation, she sat down cross-legged and let herself fall into the Force. There she would get an answer.
