Joel cut the chains on the door, letting the four of them enter the building. Alaska shut the door behind them running a hand through his wet rain filled hair, dropping down to the floor opening his bag pulling out his gun clicking it. He tucked it in his jeans, pulling out his flashlight standing up between Tess and his father.
“We should have made her stay home.” Alaska said looking down at his sister who scoffed.
“I'm right here?!”
“Believe me I know. Stay behind me.” He said
“Can I have a gun-”
“Nope” Alaska shook his head
“Not a chance”
“No” Joel said roughly
“Jesus Christ fine” she said putting her hands up, before pulling the hood of her red Jacket over her head. “Lead the way.”
They walked down the wet stairs. The rain poured in through the crack in the roof, as they walked down through the tunnels under the building.
"Hey, that's the one," Tess said, walking over to a few steps up to a door. She pushed it open, looking inside quickly, shining her light around, Alaska followed behind Joel, after helping Lena up.
The three were startled when Tess yelled in fear. They shined their flashlights over seeing a dead infected against the wall, fungus spreading across its limbs holding it against the old cement wall. Tess hand to her chest. Joel and Alaska had their guns pointed at the wall. And Lena stood shoulders to her ears.
"This one's done," Joel said.
Tess side eyed him. "Yeah I know, I just.. Wasn't expecting it. "
“Agreed but it's kinda cool… fascinating, almost."Alaska said, shining his light, slowly walking closer.
Joel walked up behind him. "Boo!"
Alaska jumped thinking his father had walked ahead already.
"Dad, you suck" Alaska said, dropping his hands to his sides following the two older adults, hearing his sisters giggles.
Tess grabbed hold of the ladder starting to climb up.
"After you" Joel said with his casual Joel smirk.
"No, No, put your elders first.'' Joel deadpanned, as his son smirked, Tess's small chuckle heard from above and Lena tried to hide her laughter, her first to her lips.
