CHAPTER ELEVEN: Let Me Help You Make This Complicated

MONDAY

Wonwoo was told to relax; let the beat of the music control his limbs, and ultimately start dancing. He was to take a deep breath in, exhale slowly and only think about how his movements should be fluid—flow like water trailing down a stream. The steps he was shown should come naturally, be a second nature the second the song began playing. But coffee table pushed to the side, volume on his phone put to the max, and body as mellow as he could physically get it, it was like Wonwoo had no rhythm. It's not like he needed this practice to realize that. The skill that dancers typically had in their feet, in their arms and chest, the ravenette found within his thumbs. He found it in his eyes and when he was slouched over, controller in hand as he desperately tried to slaughter the zombies that appeared on the screen. So for the nth time that Junhui tried to guide him to do the simple routine of the waltz (said it was a warm-up), feet were being stepped on and frustrated whines were expressed.

"I give up" Wonwoo threw his hands in the air before dropping them back down to his sides with clear defeat. He stepped back from his blonde friend, pout settling on his lips as he decided to drop himself beside his other blonde friend. Seungkwan immediately gave a comforting pat to his thigh. He was trying to hide the way he was giggling from Wonwoo's continuous mess ups. While he wasn't a professional dancer either, he doesn't think a four-count box-like motion was that hard to do. "Maybe I can pretend to break my ankle? Just until the project is done. Save myself and the group the embarrassment."

"Wouldn't that be suspicious?" Seungkwan wonders. He glanced between Wonwoo and Junhui, eyebrow raised and confusion reading his face.

"Not if I-"

"You're not pretending to break anything" Junhui reached out for the bespectacled male's hands that were tucked away while having his arms crossed over his chest. It took a few tugs, but eventually the duo was in the middle of the living room once again. Junhui gave his best smile while positioning Wonwoo's hands back where they needed to be. One on his shoulder, and one clasped with his. "Just follow my lead" He put his own hands in their rightful spot; one rested on the small of the slightly younger's back, while the other gave a light squeeze to a pale palm. "And if the group decides to go along with the duo idea, we could be partners. So then you won't feel uncomfortable when we actually begin the choreo."

He pulled Wonwoo flush against his chest. Their eyes connected and for a moment the two of them were just standing there, searching one another. Not much was found though, making the gut-wrenching feel even deeper—hallow. That'll be a conversation for another day though. That is if the conversation will ever be held. Sometimes boundaries that have been built just can't be crossed. They become permanent and almost impenetrable. Almost. Junhui was going to take this opportunity and begin to break it down. If he got hurt in the process, that's something he'll just have to deal with when it happens. For now, he'll smile cheekily at Wonwoo, admiring the grin that he got back.
