CHAPTER FOURTEEN: Words Can Be Quite Mean

MONDAY

Seokmin was the first to leave the pizzeria after that. At first he was stuck in place—an expression mixed with sadness, shock and anger was engrained on his face, eyes darting about the pizzeria in embarrassment. Those brown eyes of his glistened with tears, fingers twitching by his side as he couldn't keep them still. He wanted to go after Minghao. Wanted to run after him and apologize with his knees dug into the cement, staying there for as long as needed; willing to endure the rocks digging into his skin, the chilly wind possibly giving him a fever because he forgot his duffel bag where a jacket was stashed, his throat going sore and voice being lost because he refuses to stop saying sorry. But with the imagination that he did all of those things, it was no guarantee that Minghao would forgive him; accept him.

Or Junhui might actually punch him in the face. Seokmin has hurt his cousin for the last time. Junhui is willing to take a stand, verbally or physically cause harm to the younger if needed.

So Seokmin stayed planted in his spot—standing up, and not knowing where to go from here. Eyes from the soccer team, from a few additional friends, from Jisoo, kept a focus on him. They obviously wanted to know what sunshine of a man Lee Seokmin was going to do now too. After believing that pleading with snot and tears dribbling down his face might not work, it was ideally best that he just went back to his dorm and cried it out. He'll ball up under his covers and remind himself about how all of this was his fault. If he'd done what Minghao said and didn't entertain Jisoo, he wouldn't have lost one of the best things that's ever happened to him. But Seokmin did (his sparkling eyes trailed from the floor and up at a smug Jisoo, a fire sprouting through his chest) and he regrets every second. Seokmin effortlessly threw a glare in the light brunette's direction, hands balling into fists.

Why did you lie? Jeonghan came around to delicately put a hand to Seokmin's arm. It broke the younger from his intense thoughts. He immediately craned his neck to look at the motherly blonde beside him. Jeonghan looked empathetic with him. Right, because he too just recently went through a breakup. Not much was said from the older, just some mumbling about how he should head home. Get some rest and that he'll definitely be checked on later.

"Just don't worry about anyone else,"

Seokmin looked back at Jisoo. How he so casually sat about as if he didn't just rip Minghao's heart out and stomp on it. No, because Seokmin did that too. He was trying to be nice; cordial.

"You're dead to me" The light brunette appeared taken aback by the firm statement; by the harsh stare he was receiving. It's a bit repulsing for him to think that he didn't deserve it. "Delete my number. Don't call me. Don't text me. Don't even speak to me unless it's about that stupid music project. And even then I don't want to be alone with you, so you better make sure there's a third party...because like Minghao said: I don't want you."
