Decadence

"How long has he been like this?", Rydell asked sadly as he could see (Y/n) working away on his car, the bags under his eyes seemed to be worse than he last remembered. Kiara just sighed sadly as she looked over to you as you held this determined look on your face, "He's been at it since that day, I've been here with him all that time.", She states before continuing, "I don't even know if he even slept, ate or did anything else at that time. I'm worried about him.". Rydell sighs before looking at (Y/n) who tries to start his car but nothing seemed to happen, as (Y/n)'s expression changed to rage as he got out of the car repeatedly taking his anger on it, as it usually ended up with him kicking it, "Damn it! Fuck, fuck, fuck, you piece of shit what the fuck is wrong with you?!", he yells out before picking up a wrench and throwing it across the room as it hits the wall, before falling clattering on the floor. He just sighs, shaking his head before getting back to work on the car, choosing to act like that didn't just happen.

Rydell just sighed sadly as he watched this scene, while Kiara looked somewhat hurt that he was going through this, the two stood outside of the garage peering inside of it watching as the world tried to break him. "I don't blame him for acting like this, with all that's going on it's a surprise that he hasn't given up yet.", Rydell says while staring at the scene, "But how long can he keep going for? This isn't healthy for him at all.", he finishes as he watched (Y/n) lift up the hood of his car trying to figure out why nothing was working. Kiara had to agree with him on this, how much more would (Y/n) have to go through until he's broken? Kiara just stood there worried for him as she watches him slowly work himself to death, just so he wouldn't lose that one person who matters to him the most.

Kiara thought back to that night exactly four days ago, everything was going so right, it all felt perfect and for the first time, Kiara actually was able to feel normal for once. She has lived longer than most could ever hope to, and she has seen and done many things in her life, some she regrets to this very day. Despite that, Kiara had never actually been able to experience any of life's pleasures, or actually be able to be herself, as she was always bound to her duty, yet for the first time in this immortal life of her's, someone actually seemed to care somewhat for her and treated her just like they would to anyone else. Sure this shouldn't be such a major thing to most people, but to her, it was special as she was always treated as some sort of higher being, which she was, but to feel normal like that was just something that Kiara had always dreamt of feeling, and it was no surprise that Kiara had felt something blossom deep inside of her. She knew what she felt for him and it was obvious to her, how could she not feel this way about him?

The way he carried himself, putting others above himself, his determination, and the fact that he himself was willing to put himself through hell and back for the people he cares about. He was willing to do this alone, through sheer will and determination working all alone, and not even trying to use Kiara to help him in any way, as did many others before him. This was something that Kiara was not used to as most others she had been with all had used her for some sort of gain or easy way out of their problems, using her status as a magical creature to save themselves, but not (Y/n) he was different than the others. So it made sense as to why Kiara developed these feelings for him, and his actions that day just furthered it, but Kiara knew that she should not follow these feelings, that she should not pursue what her heart yearns for despite her feelings. So she tried to push these feelings down, tried to burry them, to hide them, but even she couldn't do that well as she showed a moment of weakness when she kissed him, sure it was only a peck on the cheek and was pretty much nothing to most people, but to Kiara it was her giving in to her desires, despite her mind telling her to not to, she just couldn't help herself.

Though she wouldn't say it out loud, she saw the smile he had after she did that, her heart fluttered as she saw that, thinking to herself that maybe, maybe this wasn't such a bad thing. Sadly, that was all ruined in an instant when he got that call, she watched as his face shifted to an expression of fear, of horror. The next thing she knew, she was sitting outside of the hospital room as (Y/n) was inside, talking to the doctor she couldn't really hear what the two were talking about as it was all muffled. Kiara knew not what to do at that very moment as she sat there, holding onto that plushie as if that was the only thing she could do. She knew she could help him, her tears could heal the weak, and the sick from any disease she would only need to cry and have his mother drink it, and she should recover from her illness....but why didn't she? It was the right thing to do, and she knew it, but she couldn't as she was afraid. She was afraid of how he would react to such actions, afraid that he would treat her differently than he has before, not only that her duty, her purpose would have been completed, and she would have, have to leave him forever, and would never be able to see his face ever again in her lifetime, until it slowly faded away to be just an old memory, or a dream of a time long ago. Kiara was afraid of that, she didn't want to lose this to lose you, she didn't want to give this up she wanted to remain here by his side. She knew it was a selfish thing to do, letting him and his mother suffer just so she could finally feel and have something that she never could have...love.
