Elodie's parents hadn't said a word to her when she cane home for Christmas break. The day they sent her off she was told all about Ravenclaw, every Westwood had been sorted into Ravenclaw, and Elodie was so excited to see what the Common Room was like. Apparently there was a photograph of her great great great grandfather in there.

She was told she'd make an exemplary student, that Ravenclaw was something to be eternally proud of. She was told to befriend specifically her housemates, though they didn't really mind that rule. However, the one thing they were insistent on was being a Ravenclaw.

She remembers the exact feeling of when her name was called. With her surname, she was one of the last, but she didn't really mind too much about that. When her name was called, she confidently walked up to the stool, and seated itself.

The confidence was shortly replaced with dread when the Sorting Hat called Gryffindor. The cheers from the house were muffled, everything went quiet in Elodie's ears. She felt dizzy when she stood up, walking over to the long row of tables and sat down.

She lost her appetite for the food she was so excited to taste. She lost her excitement to make friends. She lost everything that day.

When she woke up the next morning, a letter from her parents sat on her desk. She decided to get it out of the way and open it.

Her first panic attack at eleven. She cried all day, much to the annoyance of her roommates, except for one. Lily Evans, her first friend - she thought since Elodie was pureblood, never in a million years would they talk. But on that day, an inseparable friendship was formed. The girls didn't know it yet, but they'd never be apart for too long.

Lily introduced her to Marlene and Mary, their other roommates. Marlene was hilarious and chaotic, while Mary was a lot quieter and more shy. The muggleborn, pureblood, extrovert and introvert would probably not have even looked at each other given separate dorm rooms. Yet here they are, 5 years later. Closer than any of them would've ever even imagined.
