"Oh my goodness! You guys are so cute!"
"The number two hero found happiness! Go Hawks!"
"Congratulations on your engagement!"
"Woohoo!"

Walking with Keigo, those are some of the most common cheers I have picked up from the surrounding people. Our engagement was publicly announced just recently so I expected those cheers and seemingly Keigo did as well because he remained calm as always but then again, he has been in pain since his wings were burned and his prosthetic wings weren't making things any better for him. He was always uncomfortable and I wished I were there to support him initially when he was in the hospital because it had been made known to me that, although unconscious, he called my name and wanted to see me. Ever since then, I have felt bad for accepting such a useless mission when there were much bigger problems I had to deal with. That's when I heard typing.

"You seem troubled, my love. Are you okay?" An automated voice spoke and I knew it was Keigo speaking to me so I looked over at him and sighed. I couldn't hide anything from him. That much was obvious.
"I am very much troubled. I wasn't there to support you when you need me the most. I..." I was interrupted by Keigo spinning me around with his hands on my shoulders. He reached up and removed his mask and I knew when he did that, he meant business. Not to mention the serious expression he wore on his now unmasked face.

"(name)...how many times do we have to have this same conversation? You did nothing wrong and besides I would've much rather had you safe and sound then in the midst of fatal danger." He explained, his tone serious while he looked me dead in the eyes, cupping my face.
"But-" I was once again caught off by his finger against my lips, shushing me before I said anything further. He knew I like to argue which is why he put the finger to my lips.
"There are no buts, my love...you were safe. That's all I have ever asked for." He spoke with a smile before he began losing his breath. I quickly put the mask over his mouth and sighed.
"I appreciate your reassurance, honey. But I will feel guilty even if you tell me it is fine." I say, letting him know.
"It really is fine. You're just beating yourself over something you had no control over." The same automated voice from earlier spoke from his phone.
"Hawks...look at you. You're covered in bandages. Your wings are gone. You're in pain because I wasn't there to assist and support you. Why can't you see that?" I eventually say. He sighed before chuckling.
"If only I could take this mask off and kiss you to shut you up..." The automated voice says. I don't respond. In response to my silence, Keigo hugs me. I couldn't help but hug him back, being careful of his injuries that were still present on his back. I didn't want to hurt him further so I made sure to be careful with the placements of my hands.
"Stop being cautious dammit. I miss your touch..." He spoke into the mask near my ear while he guided my hands downwards so that they rested where his wings were. When the realization hit me, I quickly moved my hands up, back to his neck but once again, he moved my hands downwards.

"Keigo-" I was about to say but he gave me an extra squeeze before I finished what I was going to say to him.
"I don't care about my injuries. I want your touch where it hurts the most..." Keigo spoke into my eat. I gulped nervously and nodded, keeping my hands where he wanted them. He seemingly relaxed under my touch. I didn't realize how tense he was until his body relaxed significantly when I finally decided to leave my hand on the place where his wings once were.

Eventually, we parted and headed back to our shared apartment. The walk was quiet. I assumed it was because Keigo was currently in deep thought and I didn't want to say anything that would cause him to lose his train of thought. We arrived soon and I unlocked the door before guiding Keigo inside and sitting him down on the couch so he could relax completely.

"I will make dinner tonight. Is there anything in particular that you'd like me to make Keigo?" I asked my blonde fiancée sitting on the couch.
"I don't know. Surprise me." He spoke, removing his mask since we had machines around the apartment that didn't require him to wear the mask.
"You're indecisive..." I snickered as I began gathering some random ingredients for dinner. I was unsure what I'd be making but I seemed to know what I was doing...hopefully.

As I cooked dinner, Keigo came up behind me and hugged me from behind which startled me.
"Shouldn't you be resting?" I questioned. Before I knew it, my chin was caught in Keigo's grasp as my moving and still due to him pinning it against the counter.
"Yes...but I can't rest without you...and besides, I know I shouldn't do this but you're just too irresistible..." He spoke before connecting his lips with my own. My eyes widened in response to this and no matter how hard I tried to push him away, I couldn't help but kiss him back but I parted quickly.

"Keigo...go rest. The doctor said you need all the rest you can get." I say softly.
"(Name)..." He was about to object but you covered his mouth with your hand.
"No, Keigo. Go rest." I say, more sternly than before.
"Fine." He sighed before walking back to the couch and laid down with a huff.
"After dinner, we will have to change you bandages as well." I called to him from the kitchen while I chopped some vegetables.

"I'll do it." Keigo was quick to respond but I chuckled and shook my head.
"No. You're not doing it. You wrapped it horribly last time you tried. I'll be the one wrapping from now on." I counter back. I hear him groan in defeat.
"Ugh...fine."
"Good boy. You're learning." I teased only to see Keigo's golden gaze staring at me.
"Just wait until I'm better..." He smirked.
"Oh? What are you going to do?" I questioned, getting testy with him.
"Make you not able to walk~" he cooed in your direction which instantly made my face go up in flames.
"Keigo! Keep it PG!" I exclaimed in shock and Keigo responded with laughter. I pouted and returned to cooking dinner for him and I.
"How can I keep it PG when that sexy ass of yours is to be my future wife?" He questioned. I knew he had a valid point there so I kept quiet.
"That's what I thought." He added seconds after my silence started.

"Jerk..." I mumbled and I only heard him chuckle in response.
"You love me."
"Valid point."

Little did I know, things would gradually go downhill from there...
