Sarai's POV
The rest of the week seemed to go by in a flash and before I knew it, it was already Friday. My mother hadn't asked any further questions regarding my little issue in the nurse's office, thank God, and Heather hasn't seemed to bother me at all. Granted, she would sneak a couple of evil glares my way but other than that she hasn't done anything to me. 'Good cause I might've killed her had she done something prior to the cafeteria incident.' I felt a tapping on my shoulder, taking me from my thoughts. I lifted my head from my desk. 'I must've dosed off. '
I looked ahead to see that my English teacher had already written notes on the board. I decided to ignore them and instead turned to see who had woken me up. I was greeted by a worrisome look from Mackenzie. He leaned over a bit and whispered.
"You're gonna get in trouble if you don't keep your head up. The teacher has been looking this way constantly and I think she might just give you a detention the next time she sees your head down." With a groan, I propped my head up on my hand in an effort to try and keep it up. I stared down at the blank page in my notebook, not even caring to take notes. From the corner of my eye, I could see something moving. I turned to see Mackenzie shaking his head and mouthing the words 'Wow', to which I gladly replied by flipping him off.He laughed a little as I smiled. He was turning out to be a pretty nice person.
"And what might be the correct word, Ms.O'Neil?"
I snapped my head forward, hearing the question from my teacher.
'Fuck! I don't know the answer! Why must she do this to me?! Why!' I knew that if I didn't answer the question correctly, she would give me a detention for not paying attention. Then she would call my mother and have her come here which will make her leave her job to come deal with me and that is something I simply cannot have.As I was nearing a mental breakdown, I heard someone in front of me whisper something. I quickly repeated it, hoping that the person was giving me an answer.
"Uh, enclave?"
"Good. At least I know you're paying attention." And with that she went back to her lesson.I rejoiced, on the inside of course, and leaned forward to thank the person who gave me the answer. I tapped the person on their shoulder to properly thank them. When the person turned around, I was met with what looked to be a 14 year old boy. His face looked as smooth as porcelain and his eyes a dark blue. I mean, if anyone would have had to look up the word baby-face, this guy would be an example.
"Uhh..Thanks for telling me the answer."
"No problem." He said with a smile. I smiled back and began to write some notes down. A couple minutes went by and the bell rang. I grabbed my things and proceeded out the door.Mackenzie's POV
"Thanks man for helping her with the answer." I gratefully said to my friend Greg.
"No worries dude. Besides, you looked as if you were about to smack the teacher if I didn't do anything." He ended with a smirk. My other friend, John, stood up from his seat and added; "Yeah and I'm sure Sarai wouldn't have liked that."
I punched both idiots in the arms as they laughed. Because I needed people for advice anot.moral support, I told both John and Greg about my feelings for Sarai, but damn how I sometimes wish I didn't. I mean I'm fine with them making jokes, but its only first period and they have made about 24 of them so far.
"C'mon you assholes before we're late to class." I said to them as I began to walk out the classroom. The day went by quickly, believe it or not. However, besides first period I didn't get to see Sarai at all today, which made me a bit sad. I was taken from my thoughts by the harsh sound of John yelling IN MY FUCKING EAR!
"WHAT THE FUCK MAN!" I yelled while pushing him away.
"We were calling you but you didn't hear us so I decided to speak a little louder." Before I could grab him my the throat, Greg stepped in between us.
"We wanted to know if you wanted to practice today for The Talent Show."
I completely forgot about that.
"Sure, but first I need to pick up Layla from school so just meet me at my house." They both nodded as I got in my car and left.
