Sarai's POV
I must've been laughing for 5 minutes straight. I couldn't help it though. It was just so funny to see the amount of distress on his face. Was that mean? Probably. Did I give a damn? Fuck no. When I finally quieted down my laughter, I looked towards Mackenzie. Instead of receiving an angry look, I was greeted with the warmest smile I have ever seen. Ok now I felt like an ass for laughing.

"I'm sorry for laughing. I shouldn't have." He blinked a couple of times, as if he were in deep thought, and responded.
"Oh. No that's alright. I would've laughed too." He ended with an awkward chuckle. He really was acting weird, but I paid no mind to it. I just assumed he was acting awkward because he wasn't used to being nice to me. He really was trying, however.

After finishing my sandwich, I looked at the remaining food that was on the bed. At least 3 more sandwiches were left, as well as 8 bags of chips and 4 sodas. I looked at Mackenzie and saw that he was staring at his phone. Now that would be normal if the screen was actually on. I decided that now would be a good time to thank him.

"Hey, thank you again for the food. How much did it cost? I'll pay back the money." He looked up from his phone, a small smile plastered on his face.
"No that's alright. I wanted to do this. It really wasn't that much money anyway." He then turned his attention back to his phone, a smile still evident on his face.
"If I ask how much money the food cost, will you tell me?" Never looking up from his phone, he replied:
"Nope." Well it was worth a shot. Before I could question him again, my phone vibrated.

Mackenzie's POV

I couldn't stop smiling. I hoped that she couldn't tell that I'd been staring at a blank screen throughout the entire conversation. I felt that if I even looked at her face, I'd get tongue tied. After a good two minutes of pure silence, I finally got the courage to look up at her. She was on her phone, a worried expression on her face.
"Are you alright Sarai?"
She snapped her head up and threw her phone to the side.

"Nothings wrong." She ended with a large smile. God she was a really bad liar, and by the look on her face it must've been something really bad.
"Oh, alright." She seemed relieved. I didn't like seeing her sad, so I did the only thing I could think of. I stood up and quickly reached over to grab her phone. I wasn't going to go through it, just use it as a way for her to tell me what's wrong. The look of murder filled her eyes as she launched out of bed. I didn't care if I got smacked or hit, I just wanted to know what was wrong. And if she felt a little weak, I would carry her to the bed. 'Wow I really fell fast for this girl'. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt my shirt being grabbed.

"God damnit Mackenzie give me back my fucking phone!" I didn't realize how short she was. The top of her head was up to the middle of my chest. I looked down at her and smirked. 'I wonder what she'd do if I did this?' I raised my hand that held her phone above my head. She then did something I'd never expect her to do before. She started to jump for it! This had to have been the cutest thing I've ever seen. However, my happiness was short lived when a hard punch connected with my arm. It hurt like a bitch, but I still didn't let go.

Before she could abuse me any further, I spoke up.
"I'll give you your phone when you tell me what's wrong." She stopped mid swing. She lowered her fist and stared straight ahead, not saying a word. I was going to ask again, however I was interrupted by someone shouting down the hallway.

"Sarai! Where are you?!" I couldn't make out the voice, but apparently the person knew Sarai. I looked down at her and saw her saddened expression. My heart nearly tore in two just by seeing the look on her face. I grabbed her arm and placed the phone back in her hand. She hasn't seemed to even notice the motion. The sound of footsteps came closer to where we were. I looked down at Sarai again and saw her frantically taking off her sweater. She threw it in a corner just as the mystery person made their way to the doorway. It seemed to be a woman. She walked in and made a beeline towards us.
