Sarai's POV
As I was sleeping, I began to feel movement. It was as if the room was shaking. Dear God is this an earthquake!! My eyes shot open to see my mother trying to wake me up. I put my hands up, showing that I was awake.
"Finally you're up! You're going to be late for school!"
I looked at the time, my eyes widening. It was 8:05 and classes started at 8:30. I jumped out of bed, put on a pair of gray sweats, a black T-Shirt, and my gray converse. Quickly brushing my teeth, I grabbed my bag, said bye to my mom, and bolted out the building. As I was running to school, I noticed that there was a breeze on my arms. I looked at them and cursed. I forgot my sweater. Knowing that it was too late to turn back now, I kept running towards school, hoping that no one would say anything about my arms.
I finally got inside, exhausted as fuck, and with one minute to spare. I decided to just leave my books in my locker and just make it seem like I was paying attention in class.
Thankfully, my first class was English which meant that I could at least relax. As long as I sat in the back, I could easily get away with sleeping. I walked into class and saw that everyone was in their little groups chatting away. Miranda didn't share this class with me, so I usually didn't speak to anyone. Looking in the back, I saw an empty seat and made a beeline towards it. I sat down and sighed. 'I didn't even get to eat breakfast.' I just prayed that my stomach wouldn't growl during class. I looked to my left to see if anyone was next to me. Luckily there wasn't anyone on that side. But when I looked to my right, my anger rose up. Fucking Mackenzie Stryder just HAD to share a class with me. He was facing the other way, talking with his group. At least i know he hasn't seen me yet. I wasn't about to get up to sit somewhere else. As long as he didn't bother me, I was good. I covered my arm that was facing him with my hair and put my head on the desk, sleeping lightly in case the teacher decides to call on people.
Mackenzie's POV
I came to school a little early today to see if I could find Heather and know what she meant by her 'plan.' For some reason, I felt that it may not have something to do with practice. When I couldn't find her, I decided to wait until lunch to speak with her. I went to English class and sat in the back. I was still a bit early so only a couple of my friends were there. They began talking about the pool party over Summer vacation and how some of them got laid. The ones that didn't started idolizing the ones that did as they compared each other's experience. I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. It was one thing to talk about it once, but since freshman year they have made it somewhat a tradition to talk about the amount of times they got lucky at every party they went to. Its been getting really annoying lately, but like always I just smile and laugh along with them.
The bell finally rang as everyone faced the front. Our English teacher walked in, greeted the class, and began her lesson. I reached down to get my notebook from my bag when I saw a mop of beautiful long dark brown hair in front of me. It slightly curled and looked so soft. The mystery girl's face was facing the other side, so I couldn't see what she looked like. She had her head on the desk and was breathing lightly, indicating that she was sleeping. I couldn't help but stare at her, wondering who she could be. I broke my gaze at her to look at the black board. A bunch of notes had already been written out, causing me to curse under my breath. 'Fuck this teacher could write fast. Either that or I was staring at that girl for a while.' I thought to myself and started writing down the notes.
I'd never thought this class would end. I gathered my things as the bell rang. I looked to see that the girl was still sleeping. I decided that now was my chance to finally see who she was. I leaned over and shook her slightly until I heard a groan. The girl lifted her head and stretched, her hair still slightly blocking her face. She turned around to see who had woken her up. It was at this point that both our eyes widened. You have got to be kidding me. The mystery girl with the beautiful hair was Sari O'Neil. I honestly didn't know what to think or say. Instead I grabbed my things and sped walked out the classroom.
The rest of my classes went by smoothly, with no sign of Sarai in any of them. Soon it was lunch, which was my opportunity to finally ask Heather what she was talking about last night. I grabbed a soda from the vending machine and walked over to my usual table. Heather spotted me first and ran towards me grabbing my arm.
"Finally! I've been looking all over for you!"
"Yeah about the plan-" Before I could even finish my sentence she interrupted me.
"Oh don't worry about that I'll handle everything. All you gotta do is hold this and follow me." She handed me a tray of spaghetti with salad. Did she really just want me to throw her trash out. She barley touched it. Instead of complaining, I followed her to wherever the hell she was going. She stopped abruptly, went behind and pushed me causing the tray of food to land on someone.
Sarai's POV
After my little staring contest with Mackenzie during English class, I made sure that I had no other classes with him in them. So far he didn't, to my luck. As I was on my way to lunch, Miranda came up behind me and nearly chocked me with one of her hugs. When she let go I coughed loudly, gasping for air.
"Why!!" She laughed and smiled brightly at me.
"You're not wearing that sweater today that's why."I half smiled and continued walking to the cafeteria with her behind me. We got our food and sat down at our usual table. Miranda was talking to me about her biology class when she suddenly stopped and looked up. Before I could even turn around, a tray of hot spaghetti and cold salad was dumped over my head. A surprised gasp escaped my lips as my eyes widened. I looked up and my eyes met Mackenzie's, his almost equally as big as mine. Next to him was Heather, laughing up a storm.
"Aww looks like someone had an accident. Why don't you go home to your mommy and show her what a dirty little piggy you've been." She made sure everyone heard what she said, and in return the cafeteria was filled with laughter. I had a decision to make. Beat the living shit out of Heather or walk away. I didn't want my mom having to get involved with this, so I swallowed my pride and walked to the girl's bathroom. I made sure to look behind me to tell Miranda to follow me. She looked just about ready to start yelling until she saw my face and followed after me.
"Yeah just walk away you fucking waste of space!" I heard Heather yell after me. I tried counting to 10 repeatedly so I wouldn't do something stupid. It wasn't worth my mother's stress.
*~Soooo sorry you guys for updating a little late. I wasn't feeling good but I'm a little better now. Hope you're enjoying the story so far :)
