I put my pen down a few seconds before the teacher took the tests. Finally, it’s over. Fortunately, the technique Kenma told me to follow, actually pulled off. His monotone voice from last night guided me throughout the examination like a guardian angel. Kenma did remind me of those white winged mythical creatures.
It seemed as if everyone else were just as relieved as I was. When I caught his eyes, I stood up and skipped over to his desk with my hands behind my back.
“Thank you.” I said shyly.
Kenma’s mouth formed a very faint pout and he stood up, “Don’t make it weird.”
I hooked my arm around his, “I’m not trying to.”
In a partly awkward silence we walked down the hallway to the cafeteria.
“You didn’t tell anyone about last night, did you?” Kenma suddenly whispered which almost made me jump.
“Of course not. We promised we won’t.”
“What happened last night?”
We turned around to see Lev with curious eyes looking down at us.
“It’s none of your business, Lev.” The pudding-haired mumbled audibly annoyed.
“Lev, I will kick your ass and then kill you.” With a death stare I turned around and Kenma followed suit.
Eventually, after bumping into a few other students, we reached the busy and roaming cafeteria. Kenma, still close next to me, visibly tensed up and I wasn’t feeling so comfortable either. Without even thinking twice, I unhooked my arm and took his hand before entering the madness. We went to the vending machine in the corner since I couldn’t spot our group sitting at one of the tables.
I gazed at Kenma to check if he was doing okay. He stared at our still intertwined hands. Quickly I let go and mumbled an apology. I couldn’t look at him and decided to search for our group once again. Near the cafeteria entrance I spotted Kuroo, Lev and Yamamoto sitting down.
“I found them.” I said to no one specific.
Something cold was placed into my hand. My gaze landed on a strawberry milk box. With a small smile I followed Kenma to our group’s table and took a seat next to him. I only realised that no one was talking when I jabbed the plastic straw through the box. Everyone’s eyes were on my being.
“What?” I asked with my eyes dancing around nervously.
“What happened between you and Kenma last night?” Kuroo asked smugly resting his face in his hand.
My eye twitched and threw daggers at Lev, “Lev!”
The silver haired half-Russian threw his hands in the air innocently. Kenma sighed loudly next to me.
“Hey, I want to know too.” Yamamoto leaned over the table across from me.
“It’s nothing , so calm down.” Kenma said before sipping his apple juice.
Kuroo smirked while leaning back slowly and I knew that he was planning to say something to prevent the topic from disappearing.
“If that is really true, why is Y/n blushing?” I hate him.
Before I could defend myself, Kenma was already speaking, “Maybe she’s flustered because you are putting her on the spot, asshole.”
