𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂'𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓

"Fucking hate Winter." Bakugo grumbled, his scarf flying.

"We know." everyone rolled their eyes in unison.

"Can we just go somewhere warm?" Denki gritted his teeth, visibly shaking.

"Please, you guys are such party poopers!" Mina grinned, running in circles with her hands in the air, "Winter is great!"

"We're not friends anymore." you shook your head seriously.

Mina stuck her tongue out teasingly.

"Hurry up!" Kirishima shivered in annoyance, "Let's go!"

"For real." Denki hugged himself.

"There's a coffee shop near here," Shinso spoke, seemingly unbothered by the cold, "It's only a two-minute walk."

"Great, come on then!" Bakugo stomped away.

"You're going the wrong way!" Shinso called after him.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" Bakugo shouted.

"Hitoshi just show us where it is." you pleaded.

"Follow me."

You, Mina, Bakugo, Kirishima, Denki, and Sero all exchanged looks and started walking.

"Finally!" Denki sighed, embracing the warm air as you all walked inside.

The seven of you sat down at a round table, some of you having to bring other chairs over since there were only four.

You noticed Sero had been awfully quiet the entire time, which was very out of character for him.

"Sero, are you okay?" you asked.

"I'm fine!" he smiled toothily.

You noticed him look down numbly as soon as Kirishima started talking about what he was going to do for Christmas.

Something about him just seemed off.

He couldn't possibly be upset about the whole sneaky link thing?

Somehow, the conversation switched to all the couples in your class, and what everyone's favourite ships were.

"Personally, I think Midoriya and Ururaka are going to get together," you said.

"Oh my gosh, yeah." Mina agreed, "But what about Ururaka and Tsu?"

"That is very true." you noted.

"I don't know about y'all, but TodoMomo is probably the best one." Denki lifted his hands up.

"I'm gonna go outside." Sero mumbled, "Get some fresh air."

Everyone watched as the dark-haired boy got up and left.

"Was it something I said?" Denki asked in confusion.

"Guys, I'm gonna check on him." you said, standing up and heading after your friend.

"Hanta!" you said loudly, seeing Sero's figure walking down the street.

He probably didn't hear you, you thought, increasing your speed.

But Sero had heard you. He rubbed his eyes with his fist, angry at himself for letting a few tears out. 

"Just keep walking." he thought, "They won't care if I go home."

Sero walked briskly, his head spiraling.

"Hanta! Please wait! Where are you going?" 

Sero couldn't take it anymore.

The tears just wouldn't stop.

"Hey- are you crying?" you asked in confusion, finally catching up to him.

You tilted your head to get a look at his face.

Your eyes widened when your question was answered.

Sero's face was red and tears were streaming down his face.

You weren't exactly the best in these types of situations; The entire Bakusquad had had their fair share of you laughing in front of them while they cried. You really didn't mean to, and you felt horrible for doing it, but it just sort of happened.

"Go away!" Sero said angirly, "I don't need you to laugh at me!"

"I promise I'm not going to!" you protested, "I swear on Bakugo's life I won't laugh."

"Why would you do that to Bakugo?" Sero choked.

"Tell me why you're crying." you demanded.

"Tell you why I'm crying?" Sero said in disbelief, "TELL YOU WHY I'M CRYING? I'M CRYING BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING!"

You watched him in concern, letting him finish his yelling.

"I'm so sick of being the backup friend! I'm so sick of getting replaced all the fucking time! Hell- that motherfucking Shinso fucking took my spot in the squad, for fuck's sake!"

"Woah, don't talk about Hitoshi that way." you frowned.

"Sorry," Sero apologised, "I'm sorry. But I'm just so fucking done with this. Why am I even in the Bakusquad anymore? Basically all of us have that one best friend we do everything with- but I don't-"

"Bruh, you and Denki?" you raised an eyebrow.

"We used to be. Now he's got his new best friend Shinso, who he literally cancels his plans with me to hang out with." Sero rolled his eyes, "And Denki doesn't even know about my crush on Todoroki! We're that far apart that he hasn't even realised- yet you and Mina have!"

"I-"

"And you know what the worst part is?" Sero grinned through tears, "DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE WORST PART IS?"

"Let's hear it." you sighed.

"Todoroki's fucking dating Momo!" 

"What?" you asked, your jaw dropped.

"You heard me." Sero spat bitterly, "Momo asked him out today. He said yes apparently."

"Hanta, I'm so sorry." you said in your best comforting voice.

"Don't be." Sero muttered, "It's not like anyone actually cares. Notice how it's always Bakugo, Kirishima, and Denki? They always run off together... and I'm just kinda left there with you and Mina. So fucking over it."

"I honestly had no idea-"

"I'm going home. Thanks for coming after me; I really needed to get that off my chest."

You watched in despair as one of your best friends walked away from you, his black hair blowing in the wind.

Did Sero just leave the Bakusquad?
