A tear fell, he knows Itadori wouldn't answer, he wasn't there, but it made Rin feel better. Rin opened the door and Kuro meowed as he walked in the room. Rin walked in, closed the door, and walked to the bed.

Kuro hopped on the bed and made himself comfortable. Rin crawled in the bed, getting comfortable under the covers. The bed still had Itadori's scent on it. Rin closed his eyes as a single tear finally fell from his face.

"Goodnight Kuro, goodnight Ita, goodnight Suki..." He mumbled as he finally fell asleep.

Kuro also meowed, saying goodnight to his deceased friend.

The next morning rolled in, no one really wanted to get up. Gojo opened all the doors to see his students still sleeping. He walked into Rin's room, only to not find him there. He guessed where Rin might be, and walked to the room.

Gojo opened the door, and he guessed it. Both Rin and his cat, Kuro were peacefully sleeping on Itadori's bed. Gojo knew that Itadori and Rin were like brothers, Rin went as far as to change his name from Okumura to Itadori, same as Yuji's.

Gojo walked and sat on the edge of the bed. A light meow was heard, and Gojo looked to see it was Kuro waking up. Gojo looked at Rin, Rin was awake, his eyes were open. He was staring at a wall, that happy shine in his eyes, was replaced with an emotionless, dead look.

"Rin, how are you feeling?" He asked.

    Silence... Gojo sighed.

"I know it's tough, it's going to be tough for me as well, he was like a son to me, but-"

"Is Itadori in peace now?" Rin asked, voice cracking.

    "I'm sorry?"

"Is Itadori in peace now? Like.... He doesn't have to suffer from the world anymore?" Rin sat up, some of Rin's hair in his face.

His hair wasn't long, just to the crook of his neck. Gojo smiled warmly to Rin. Gojo gently moved some of Rin's hair behind his ear.

"Yes, Itadori is finally resting" He said.

Rin sadly smiled "That's good to hear.... He was under so much pressure.." Rin pulled his knees to his chest.

Gojo patted Rin's head softly "I know, I know." Gojo said.

Rin crawled a bit to Gojo and hugged him. Gojo hugged Rin back.

"You know, a part of him is still here" He said,

    "Like?" Rin asked.

"You also have his last name Rin" He said.

Rin slightly smiled, they both remained in the hug for awhile when Rin pulled back.

"I should make breakfast... Do you want anything?" Rin asked.

"You don't have to make anything, try to take the day for resting, I think the others will as well" He said.

Rin slightly nodded. Gojo stood up, then faced Rin once again once he was at the door.

"Maybe you should go spend some time with your father, maybe that'll help you get your mind off of things for a bit" Gojo Suggested.

"I would... But right now, the others would need all the comfort they would need, and I don't feel like opening a portal to Gehena... I'm just so..." Rin couldn't find the words.
