Roselyn Belo

Tuesday, 3:48am:

The bed dips, waking me up. I look over my shoulder, wiping my tired eyes to watch Nate climb into bed; reeking of alcohol and weed. "Where have you been?" I ask.

He chuckles. "All over the world baby." He slurrs, I roll my eyes and turn around to lay my arm over his waist.

"Goodnight." I whisper, kissing his shoulder.

"Goodnight baby, I love you." He whispers back.

"I love you too."

11:13am:

Nate's head rests against the cool metal table in the local diner, I reach over and stroke his hair, using my other hand to text Rito and ask how River is doing.

"When do you start work?" Nate asks, his voice muffled.

"Monday, hey our anniversary is exactly one month today." I squeal, realising the date; 20th October.

"I know baby," he chuckles, lifting his head up. "What do you want to do?" He asks.

I shrug my shoulders. "Another beach date would be nice, with a dinner afterwards and a night full of passionate love making." I smirk, leaning over to him so the next table can't hear me.

"Anniversary or not, that's what you'll get," He says, reaching over to hold my hand. "Forever and always."

"This is why I love you." I say, he fakes a look of hurt.

"Oh really? I thought it was because of my beautiful looks." He pouts, I laugh and lean over the table to him.

"And your beautiful looks too, of course," I giggle, he grins. "So," I start, raising my eyebrow at him. "Where'd you get the money?"

He sighs, running his hands over his face. "I knew this was coming."

I nod my head. "Yeah, the time has arrived, now tell me."

He holds his pinky out towards me. "You gotta' promise you won't be mad though."

"If it's bad, I'll be mad, there's no promises in the world I can make to stop that." I tell him, a stern look on my face which never fails to intimidate him - he's said so himself, multiple times.

"Okay so," he takes a deep breath in, looking down at the table surface. "I'm dealing again."

"Excuse me?" I snap, straightening my posture.

"I'm selling drugs again." He confesses quietly, fiddling with his fingers. I stand and grab my bag before walking out of the diner.

He got arrested for it, six months and he's doing it again? He's going to ruin his life. It's okay to smoke weed but selling it is not, not when he's starting his career.

"Baby wait," He calls after me, I continue walking. "Roselyn plea-"

"No Nate," I snap, turning around with tears in my eyes. "Why? We're all gonna' have jobs, get money, you don't need to do it again."

He walks over to me and cups my face, I try my best to get out of his grip but he holds me tight, shushing me as I cry. "Roselyn please don't cry, please," he pleads, rubbing my cheeks with his thumbs. "It'll be more money, baby please understand that, more money for us to spend, to have fun with-"

"We've got enough, when Grace and I start working, it'll be even more," I argue, stepping back out of his hands. "Nate that shit got you in jail, whether Cameron set you up or not, you still went to jail for drugs and now you're gonna' sell them again? No Nate, if you get caught again-"

"I won't Roselyn, I promise you, please don't make me choose." He sighs, cupping my face again.

"There shouldn't be a fucking choice!" I yell, making him flinch and people passing by to look at us. "It's wrong Nate, so wrong on so many levels. If you do this, I want no involvement-"

"I'm not going to get you involved-"

"-with the drugs or you."

With that, I make my own way home; I'm not getting in the car with him.

Nathan Maloley

Tuesday, 11:43am:

I followed her home, trailing behind her in my car, making sure she's safe. I didn't care that people behind were honking their horns at me for my slow speed, I needed her to get into the car, to know that I'd choose her over anything and everything on this earth.

She's my world.

And I don't care how whipped or corny I sound, she is my world, she is my life.

"Baby people are looking, just get in the car." I plead, stopping when she stops and turns to look at me, tears drying on her rosy cheeks.

"I don't give a fuck about people looking, either you stop selling or we stop this-"

"Don't say that," I broke, my heart hurting from her words. She doesn't mean it. "You don't mean it, you and me are meant to be together, we're Roselyn and Nate, our anniversary is next month." I jump out of the car, ignoring the impatient honks and curses from people in other cars.

"I know," she cries, wiping her eyes. "I know but I don't want you to go to jail again." She gives in and let's me hug her.

I stroke her hair and back, kissing her head repeatedly. "Roselyn I promised you, and I'm promising again that I'm never going back there, okay baby?"

She nods, crying into my neck. "Just promise you won't ever leave me."

"I promise you baby, always and forever okay?"

She nods again, I cup her face and wipe her cheeks. "Now let's get home, we need lots cuddles." I kiss her and walk her to the passenger side of my car.
