It wasn't clear where the tall man appeared on the stage. His blond hair was tied in a bun. From the next desk children heard:

"This is the man who fed owls and wolves in the forest. I honestly thought he was going to be eaten and cursed." the children's eyes widened when they heard this.

Leo buried his head in his shoulder a bit, Charelynn looked at Kalin and Kalin looked at Leo and then at Corvus, her eyes narrowed.

The boy, in turn, looked at the owl that was still sitting on the girl's shoulder. Corvus long hair still hid some of his features, so the expression on his face was unclear.

After a couple of seconds, the teachers drew attention to themselves and the stage again. The tall man spoke, gesturing with his hands:

"Good evening, my wizards, my name is Mr. Frederick, I will teach you the history of all walks of life, and help you learn about your powers and skills. Of course, I will not teach the Swirl children to fly, but I will tell the story of your wings. I open to questions and in my humble opinion, I am the friendliest teacher." the man finished his speech, winking at Professor Bilous at the words "the friendliest teacher".

Mr. Frederick really looked like someone who would influence Kalin more than once. While everyone was looking at him, Kalin took a quick look at Corvus, and saw his other eye and the part of his face that was hidden by his hair.

"His left eye is blind," the girl noted in her head.

He saw that she was looking and didn't abruptly lean his cheek on his hand. With that movement, his hair fell again on the left side of his face.
Kalin thought he was going to act rude or scowl, but he smiled at her and looked back at the stage.

"I won't talk about it. Never." Kalin still looked at him for a second and also turned her gaze to the stage.
