Zhan had been searching for Yibo for the whole two years without taking any breaks.
He kept hoping that somehow, in some way, he would find him.
He wasn't ready to give up on him because he knew that when he had said those horrible words to Yibo, he had been angry. He was angry because Yibo had aborted their child, and in that moment, he had let his anger take over everything.
But sometimes Zhan couldn't understand why God kept punishing him.
Why?
It wasn't like he had done something so horrible that whenever he finally found happiness, God would take it away from him within a few seconds.
Every time he thought he had finally found something precious, it disappeared from his hands.
And Yibo was no different.
Yibo knew that Zhan would never give Taehyun back to him.
He knew that Taehyun hated him so much that his own son had wished him dead.
That thought alone broke Yibo's heart. But he couldn't lose Xian. She was his only hope of living. She was the person who had kept him alive for the past two years.
Without Xian, Yibo didn't know what his life would have become. He couldn't believe what his life would be like without his daughter.
But even though he had Xian, he had never forgotten his son.
Never.
He would always remember Taehyun in different ways.
Every birthday.
Every little memory.
Every moment when he saw another child around his son's age.
He knew that he hadn't fought enough for his son.
He knew that he had allowed Zhan to take Taehyun away from him.
But that didn't mean he wouldn't fight for his daughter.
He would.
He knew Zhan had made him weak by using Taehyun against him.
He had threatened him with his son and forced him to sign the custody papers.
At that time, Yibo had been too scared of losing Taehyun to fight back.
But if something happened to Xian, he would fight.
He would fight even if the entire world went against him.
He would fight for his daughter even if he had to go against his whole family.
He had always wanted his daughter to grow up in a better environment, somewhere like South Korea, where there was no tension and nobody knew about the horrible things that had happened in the past.
He wanted her to have a peaceful childhood.
He wanted her to grow up without knowing about the hatred between her parents.
As soon as they arrived in China after the long flight, Xian was still in her cheerful mood.
Everything was completely different to her.
The people, the surroundings, the airport, everything.
And like most kids, she was excited and playful.
Eventually, they slowly started getting tired.
But in Xian's case, it wasn't really her who was tired.
It was Yibo.
Handling a two-year-old was already difficult enough, but his daughter had so much energy that she had troubled both him and Ye-ji throughout the entire flight.
