Mother.

I was completely taken back. Why this woman decided to show up right now of all times was beyond me. My eyes were glued to the woman as my breath hitched. "Hello Larissa, Andrew" mother spoke so sternly that it made me anxious just like Andy. After she'd decided to introduce herself she stepped our way just as the waiter was doing the same, food in hand.

"Oh ma'am watch out" the young boy said trying not to barge straight into my mothers behind. She simply just rolled her eyes and huffed, moving to the side. "Here you go, one grilled cheese and here's your egg and ham" I smiled widely at the boy taking the plate in my hand and sliding it across to me, Andrew doing the same. Mother didn't waste any time in taking the waiters place once's he'd scurried off leaving me in the presence of two people that were making me feel incredibly awkward. "How nice to see you two together here" her smile was as fake as anything, her hands clutching onto her purse in front of her. "Well Lari had some time off of work so she decided to spend it with me at the house" Andrew of course had to answer for me making me irritated.

I didn't want the woman knowing I was staying at my home this weekend. I was being bothered enough in this moment that I certainly didn't want another surprise visit later in the evening. I have my husband a glance making him known that I wanted to leave as soon as possible. He took the hint kindly and started eating his meal. "I'd like to eat now if you don't mind" I tried my best to sound confident around her and not show that I was extremely nervous. My sentence gained another eye roll from the old lady, her fake teeth glowing as she smiled. "Very well"
I watched in surprise as she left me and Andy at our table, walking over to the opposite end of the cafe and taking a seat herself.

"Well Lar let's just eat this and we'll leave then" Andy spoke. Even though him and my mother had similar tendencies he never did like her that much. He had admitted it to me once we stopped speaking those years back.

Andrew and I had quickly finished up with our food and walked down the street. Not wanting to think of the woman I'd just ran into I looked around my once everyday town square. The shopping centre was up ahead and the roads were busy because of roadworks  blocking off the intersection. "Bloody stupid council, why don't they do this when everyone's asleep" Andy grunted as we walked past the workers who were doing nothing but having a smoke break. It did quite annoy me too but not like it annoyed Andrew. He was always extra especially when it 'concerned him' which was twenty four seven.

Many moments later we were walking into the shopping centre. A few stores caught my eye but nervous of my husbands reaction I didn't bother asking to look inside and continued to walk by his side. Once we'd reached the presumed clothing/lingerie store that he'd mentioned when we first left our car earlier my breath hitched. The nervousness slightly washed over me as the door chimed signalling our entrance. One of the female retail assistants walked over in our direction and I unintentionally let go of my beloveds hand. Having not a clue why I did that all of a sudden I smiled at the girl as she approached. "Is there anything in particular I can help you with ma'am?" Her question was clearly directed to me so I took a second to do a quick three sixty browsing all over the selections.

There was plenty of silk and cotton pyjama sets but just the equal amount of sexy, revealing sets too. I bit my lip as a specific piece caught my eye. "How popular are these right here?" I asked timidly as I walked over to the rack of garments. Andrew followed me and the employee as we spoke under our breaths. "Rather popular actually, we get excellent reviews on our website. Everyone says the comfort level is superb!" She spoke cheerfully. I couldn't help but continuously nod at her response to my question. "Great. I think I'll just keep looking around" the girl had left and I was stood twirling the sets fabrics through my fingertips. I was extremely picky about comfort.
