"All right, guys,"
Mr Schuester came from the door minutes after the school bell had rang, with Bella looking down to her marble painted hoodie as Grant Thomas had a new bruise on the side of his face and from her best friend's red knuckles, she could tell who had hit Grant.
Her brown eyes moved around the boy's face before looking to their Glee Club teacher, "Wede doing a new number for sectionals. I know that pop songs have sort of been our signature pieces."
He said handing them music sheets, "But I did a little research on past winners and it turns out that the judges like songs that are more accessible." Bella furrowed her eyebrows handing the other sheet of paper to Grant, her hand brushing his seeing the football player move his hand back quickly like he had been stung, "Stuff they know. Uh, standards, Broadway."
Bella sees her brother's eyes light up, "Defying Gravity? I have an IPod shuffle dedicated exclusively to selections from Wicked," Kurt smiled through his breaths, "This is amazing." Bella was happy that her brother finally had a chance to sing something in the Glee Club.
"Think you can handle it, Rachel?" Mr Schuester asked ignoring everything Kurt had just said with Bella opening her mouth to defend her brother when Harper spoke up, "Shouldn't we all be given a chance, Mr Schue," the freshman said with her arms crossed over her chest.
Where the two girls got ignored by both Rachel and Mr Schuester, "Why do we have to go all vanilla on this song? See, what we need is my chocolate thunder," Harper nods her head at Mercedes said, "and Bella's white thunder,"
The New Directions hummed looking to the blonde headed girl who was still looking at the music sheet with an confused look along with Grant, "We don't have time to rearrange the song for you, Mercedes or you, Bella. Rachel is singing it."
Harper rolled her eyes, "We all know who you're favourite is," The freshman soccer player piped up, "Don't worry. We'll find something for you girls to dip on chocolate."
The New Directions laughed as Bella kept her eyes on her brother who wasn't happy with the decision, "On to item two. The school won't pay for the special bus we need to take Artie and his wheelchair with us to sectionals,"
"W-W-What?"
Rachel looked to Artie, "That is completely unfair." She added, "So, we're going to have to raise money to pay for it ourselves." Tina and Bella both nod their heads, "See, when I was in Glee Club—"
Harped leaned closer to her fellow soccer player, "About a hundred years ago," Bella chuckled at Harper's comment before listening back to Mr Schuester, "And we needed new silk cummerbunds for regionals, we held a bake sale."
Half of the New Directions laughed like the two Cheerios and Grant whilst most of them sat there confused, "Wait. You're joking, right? I mean, bake sales are kind of bougie." Santana added with her arms crossed, "So, hip people stopped eating delicious sugary treats?"
