The next morning the announcement of my disappearance went public. Not because of the heroes. Or because of the fact their tech has been failing in battles. On the tv was my sister, a woman a few years older than me and far more stable in life.

"She's reaching for you. Take it." He handed me his phone with the number on the screen dialed and ready to call. I took it while watching the live stream and hit the call button.

"Hello?" Her voice muted in the background, but we could see her confusion on the screen. My heart leaped as I heard her voice.

"Hi Sunflower. I'm sorry I disappeared, but I had no choice." I explained while watching the tears welling up in her eyes. I leaned into Lucifer as we sat in silence waiting for her to respond.

"Markus? Who took you this time?!" She started to worry again. Her eyes shifted back and forth from the phone to the camera.

"No one. I left without calling anyone because I needed to get away. I didn't want anyone to follow me and I'm safe at a friend's house. He lives near Water Bridge Road, remember that?" I used our code for, 'I was kidnapped but something changed, and I need to meet you privately with Eli.' Lucifer knew our codes, he understood the request and nodded his head handing me his car keys.

It was a weird trust we had, I would teach him the codes, he would teach me his plans against the heroes. Neither of us planned on betraying the other so it was a simple exchange. And in this case, he gave me a sense of freedom for it.

"Can you bring him or is he at work?" She used our code for 'is he armed, or did you kill him?' I laughed slightly and looked Lucifer up and down. He was no threat.

His wings were not out so he was as harmless as a puppy. His button up silk maroon shirt sat loosely against his skin, with about three buttons buttoned. His jeans were around his hips and loose without a belt to hold them to his waist. His socks were on his feet from recently taking off his dress shoes, which were placed by the front door next to the abandoned belt. His long black hair was wrapped into a messy bun with a lot of flyaways and random curls.

"No, he's not at work." I let out a sigh from scanning over the villain. His smirk covered his stubbled face as he watched me keep his gaze.

"I'll see you two soon then. I'll make sure no press is there, so you don't feel uncomfortable. Bye Markus." her voice was calmer than the start of the call. Her shoulders were less tense, and her tears were dried up.

The call ended a few seconds after our goodbye's finished and I jumped on Lucifer. My arms wrapped around the stunned man's torso. I could feel his hands move up to my hair as he played with it. My hands found their way past his waist as I hesitated above his face. My nose was brushed against his and my eyes were focused on his lips.

"Fuck it. I want to ruin our friendship." I pulled my hand away from his back and up to his neck before I kissed him. My heart exploded as he kissed back, a feeling I assumed he wouldn't return, he did.

His hands gripped my hair as we kissed for the first time. My heart was racing as I held him closer than I ever hoped. The man who held me captive so long, gave me so much freedom, was now kissing me.

"I- that's what love feels like?" He caught his breath after we broke apart. His chest was raising and lowering rapidly as he held a hand over his heart.

"I wouldn't go saying that, but yes that's what appreciation and affection feel like." I confided in him, my head rested on his chest. My hand traced up and down his exposed torso.

"What if we go too fast?" He worried, his hand tracing my back in sync to me.

"Then we slow down on the gas, and we take it easy when we do. But I'm not getting out of the car anytime soon if you're driving." I smiled before becoming quiet to hear his heart thumping.
