"Luce, you must stop pacing. You're stressing me out and you know I hate being stressed." I sat on the rocking chair just barely perched in the villain's lair, that doubled for my bedroom.
"I'm sorry." He turned to face me; his face paler than usual. His hands were all cut up from constant picking and twirling of the feather cupped in his hand.
"Come here, let me see this." I reached for his hands, refusing to stand from my little chair. The book I was reading all but abandoned on my small circle coffee table.
"It's just one of my missing feathers, don't worry I've had worse cuts. I usually twirl this around when I'm showing any emotions to prove I'm human." He placed the feather in my book and closed the pages. His hands joined mine while he talked, his eyes focused on mine.
"You're human. Whatever your father did to you, he can't do it any longer. Right now, you are here with me and not out killing people or blowing up town hall. That proves something." I reasoned with him. I watched his face scrunch up with distaste before softening into comfort.
"You made me soft." He groaned before kneeling in front of me, our hands still linked. I could see the tired age in his eyes, he was about thirty-eight, but the pain put on him aged his face to be over forty.
His black hair was marked with a gray streak that proved he was stressed. I knew my hair was marked up with volt scars but his wasn't from any scars, just pain. The bridge of his nose had a huge slash across that scarred up years ago. His hands were marked up with scars from well before the new cuts from the feather showing it happened a lot.
"Don't worry, you still look intimidating to your company and the civilians of the town. You're just a big softy to me." I teased him while he wiggled his way between my legs and rested his head on my thigh.
"Then you're just the bravest man on earth. Anyone else could have said that and I would have taken their throat." He smirked. His eyes were closed so I ran my hands through his hair. His feather softened and I could tell he was relaxed and hopeful.
"It's my job. Technically I'm the deadliest person in the world because I have the greatest villain in my bed." I continued the conversation.
"That you do. But only because you scare me when you get annoyed." He flushed.
"Wait till you see me get my revenge on Ethan. I can prove you'll be mesmerized." I boldly stated while his eyes shot open.
"I have a present for you." he stated curtly. I could barely register him running off and then bolting back into the room. This time a large box was in his arms and a large grin plastered his face.
"What the fuck did you buy?" I let out a confused laugh while I watched the villain run around like a headless chicken.
"I didn't buy anything. I just simply broke into the most secure place in the world. And then I called your sister, and she did the rest." He set the large box on my lap and stood back with a droopy smile. I couldn't help but smile too at his sudden dorkiness.
I looked over the blue matte paper in front of me, a silver bow placed right in the middle. The box was around three feet by six. The top was a slip off without any issues regarding opening. When I opened it, my whole world stopped. Lucifer had managed to find my chains, not only that but he had my hammers and my daggers next to my axe's.
"You found them?" I teared up, my hands deep in the box lifting out the large metallic chains. My wrists changed colors from a deep red to their normal tan color.
"I not only found them, but I found the key." He knelt and pulled out a key from his pocket, my key. He unlocked the chain cuffed and wrapped one around my wrist before locking it again. He repeated the action while my heart felt more whole.
"You are one strange man Lucifer. One man I will never understand, but probably always love." I rubbed my wrists admiring my chains. A feeling washed over me that I barely knew, joy.
"You're fully complete, inside and out." he kissed my wrists, and, once he moved the box with the weapon heads, he helped me to stand. My chains grew longer as I stood, accommodating to my new age since the last time I was able to wear them.
"I love you." I muttered as my chains started to levitate and swirl around my body to take up less room on the floor. They tucked into my long sleeves before vanishing into my skin to hide away, just as Lucifer's wings do.
"You are going to ruin a lot of lives like this Markus. Are you sure you are ready to get your revenge?" He ran his hand through my hair as he leaned down to touch our foreheads together.
"For everything." I traced my hands along the center of his back.
