I could see his eye color return, his tan skin sinking into a pale color, his chains disappearing. I could feel my feet slamming into the cement as I passed the corpse and used my wings to catch him. I wrapped my arms around him while I kneeled to the ground. His head was against my wings while I put the loose feather into his hands. I ran my hand through his hair constantly, trying to calm him down while he was twitching around.

"Fuckin help! Stop staring and help him!" I screamed, my lungs burning. Sunny and Eli were followed by Aaron as they held onto his arms as best, they could from my angle. His arms were covered in fresh burn marks, mixing with the old ones.

"He's breathing, that's good. Get his head a little more elevated so if he pukes, he won't choke, and keep sure you watch for any blood or wounds that could cause bad enough damage visibly. He could have internal damage or bleeding." Sunny instructed, her eyes firm on her younger brother. Her hand tracing along the scars that littered his skin.

"Come on fucker, wake up. You can't make me love just so you can leave!" I pleaded, my hand turning red while I squeezed his. My vision grew blurry as I started to cry. I could hear gasps and people murmuring, but I tuned it out assuming one hell of a camera man had caught the deadliest and strongest villain crying over a man no one knew existed.

"Ma'am can we have your statements for the press and legal reasons?" A police officer walked up to us; her black hair tied into a bun under her chief hat. She looked quite pretty, friendly too seeing as she was so calm around us. Sunny let out a muffed yes while her confidence slipped away by the woman, she seemed to be enamored by the woman's presence in the crime scene.

"Go on, it's alright sis. We got it from here, let the doctors know they have full rights to help." Eli patted her back, before of course nudging her closer to the policewoman.

She waved goodbye as they walked away, her normal tan calm complexion was frazzled and red. A reassuring site to see joy in the depressing state her brother was in. I just hoped she grabbed the ladies' number before we left. I turned back to Markus, his eyes squeezed shut as he started to moan in pain, his back arching as he cried. Hot tears flowed down his cheeks white his lips formed a hard white line.

"You cry too much." His pained voice grumbled, his hand squeezing back. I screamed, no words, but damn was it loud. It was almost like an excited squeak when I looked down and there he was. Alive, and awake, well mostly. He looked absolutely exhausted, drained of all energy.

"You fucking died, twice! In one hour!" I shoved my head into his chest, pulling him in tighter with my wings. I wrapped my arms tight around his hips while I just stayed there, I could feel his hands playing with my hair, the black falling out of the tight hold I tied it back into.

"And you cried for me. How did we do? Am I free?" he groaned, his hands gripping my shirt as a sharp pain raced through his body. I loosened my grip and let him breathe out. I cupped his face and I'm sure I had the goofiest smile on.

"We did it." I leaned my head into his and kissed him. He quickly got the memo, and we stayed adjust like that, celebrating our victory. After a minute I started to laugh, a full chest, explosive laugh of pure joy. I raised my hand after Markus stifled a small laugh, "We did it!" I leaned my head back and screamed.

"Yes, we did." Markus leaned his head into my side, a calm smile covering his sleepy face. I held him close and rubbed a hand through his hair, humming to him as he fell limp, his breathing falling into a normal rhythm.

"Sleep my dear. You deserve it." I hummed resting my head on his again. My wings protect us in our silent moment from the outside world. We did it.
