"Gem? You alright?" Mirko asks Gem, concerned.
"I-I really am in a different world... But... Xornoth is here too..." tears are starting to form in Gem's eyes as she speaks.
Suddenly, a black and red flame with just a hint of purple lights up the room. Gem recognizes this flame and wields her staff, ready to fight. Out from the flames come Xornoth. Gem raises a protective magical amethyst barrier around her, Nezu, and Mirko.
"Well, well, well." Xornoth smirks tauntingly. "If it isn't the arrogant wizard. Did you really think an amateur like you could trap me?" Xornoth laughs. Mocking Gem.
"You..." Gem sneers.
"Ooh! Such venom! I'm so hurt!" Xornoth taunts, putting a hand to his head dramatically. "And what can you do about it?"
"I can do the spell again." Gem threatens, but it seems not to work.
"Oh I do wonder what would happen if you did! Perhaps send another realm into dismay? Send me back to your empires? Oh! Or perhaps it will really work... Or do nothing. The possibilities are endless!" Xornoth smirks, seemingly winning this argument.
"Well-"
"It's your fault you know."
Gem freezes.
"You're the reason I'm here. If you hadn't done that spell this world would be fine... Well... As fine as a world of quirks can be." Mirko realizes what Xornoth is doing.
"But... We- we didn't know..." Gem is shaking.
"Stop. It's not your fault, Gem." Mirko tries to assure the wizard. Gem smiles at her.
"Just because you didn't know it would happen doesn't mean it's not your fault." Xornoth starts "You still did the spell. And you did it wrong. I know how that spell works. You failed. Sure, I'm not terrorizing the empires anymore. But I'm still here. You can't get rid of me that easily. Once I get enough power and have my fun here, I'll be back. I can't just leave my brother after all. You of all people should know that. You have a twin. And he must be terrified that you're gone."
Gem remembers how fWhip saw her fall into the portal and he doesn't have any idea on how to get her back. She realizes how unstable he must be. And the egg... She hopes fWhip is taking care of it. The other dragons too. And Gandalf! Oh poor Gandalf. And her students must be scared, too. Gem is filled with guilt and fear. She feels like she failed her empire and her academy.
"Well. I can see you have a lot to think about." Xornoth mocks. "I'll let everything sink in. Don't take too long~" Xornoth laughs and disappears.
