chapter 34.

We are waiting for the results and am panicking like crazy. Am seated on the toilet cup and the kit is on the sink. My hands are on my knees and am tapping my foot nervously on the floor.

Paulina is silent, she is seated on the tub. She knows that I hate when someone talks to me while am nervous.

“it's been ten minutes don't you think we should check it? ” Paulina asks after glancing on her wrist watch. “plus we don't have all the time in the world.”

“huh.” I sigh deeply before reaching for it.

I gasp loudly when my eyes land on the two lines and I go speechless. “what is it? ” Paulina asks and I hand it to her.

“am expecting Bred's baby. ” I frown.
Paulina walks to me and pulls me up for a hug which I gladly sink into. I would be crying right now but I can't.

I just can't its even making me angry.
“Hey it's okay.” she soothes.

“it's not.” I say over her shoulder. “my baby's father just killed my father.”

“just relax. I know it's a lot but you need to put yourself together until the guests leave okay.”

“I don't think I can do that. You know why? Because am going to be the reason why my kid will grow without a father.”

“am not saying it's okay to do that, but do you really want your kid to grow with a monster like that for a father?” Paulina reasons pulling back from a hug.

“I hate to cut this reunion short but we need you two down there.” Jim peeks through the bathroom door.

“we will be there in a minute.” Paulina tells him and he walks out.

“wakey wakey.. ” Paulina wakes me from my peaceful sleep and I pull the duvet over my head when she opens the curtains.
“do I really need to wake up this early today?” I whine.

“yess, get your lazy ass off the bed we need to go jogging.” she is already in the attire put that on and she tosses me my grey yoga pants.

I finally get ready and we jog downstairs. She insisted that she remains with me till am in shape before she goes back which her brothers gladly accepted.

She gave me all the support I needed yesterday that no one noticed what was going on and that went great.

I walk into the kitchen to have a glass of water before leaving and a distinct conversation in the living room gets my attention.

“No Ella, you know that I can't get in the middle of whatever is going on between you two.” Paulina says “How could you even choose him over your own friend, what happened to our girl code?”

“I know we said, a guy should never come between us. I made a mistake. She won't talk to me.”

“am only talking to you because you have not given me a reason not to. But it doesn't mean I'll talk to her about you. She is going through a lot to keep taking her back when she tries to move on.”

I walk into the living room after placing the glass on the table.
“what are you doing here? ” I ask walking to them.

”Rob, please hear me out.” Ella pleads.

“there is nothing to here from you.” I say walking to the door.“Hey,” I yell at the gateman“didn't I tell you to never let this woman go through those gates.” he looks confused. “you wanna get fired, don't yah? ”

“He didn't see me, I sneaked in.” Ella explains.

“now you are sneaking into my home.”

“I needed to talk to you.”

“listen Ella, I don't want to see you near my home, my brother or anywhere near me.” I sneer “you fucking backstubber.”  and I walk outside.

“Paulina.” she turns to her and she raises her hand to stop her.

“don't Paulina me, you were supposed to be by her side at her worst, but no. You used that moment to go behind her back and fuck her boyfriend. I don't think that is forgivable.” Paulina says walking out. “I'll be waiting outside.” she tells me before leaving.

“there is nothing to even talk about with her.” I say to Paulina before turning around when something crosses my mind. “actually I have a few questions, ” I say walking back to her. “did you know everything Bred was after? ”

“am sorry Rob. ” she sobs.

“answer the fucking question. ” I snap at her and she flinches.

“I did.”

I scoff, “of course you did. Did you love my brother? ”

“I did.”

“so you loved Jim and at the same time had a crush on Bred.”

“Bred flirted with me.” she tries justifying herself.

“and you flirted back.”

“I didn't.”

“did he force you to have sex with him? ”

“no.”

“did he threaten you? ”

“no.”

“did he hold a gun to your head? ”

“no.”

“so you did all that willingly.”

“Rob, it was a moment of weakness.”

“was it? ” I scoff.

“I don't understand why you are still talking to this.. ” Jim says from the staircase gesturing to Ella with his hand.

He is in a black three piece suit, “where are you going? ” I ask

“I'll tell you when I come back. I don't have time.” he says making long steps to the door without looking back at Ella.

At least I am talking to her when am mad at her but when Jim is mad at you he completely cuts you off.

Without a word I follow Jim outside. There is nothing to talk to Ella about since she did everything at her own will and saw me suffering yet she let me stupidly love Bred.

“Rob.” she calls

“matheo.” I call and he looks at me from the gate. “get her out of here and don't let her get past you again. It's your second chance.” I tell him walking past him at the gate.

“okay, miss Robin." He says walking into the house.

I walk to the side walk and I spot Paulina making a phone call at a distance so I decide to wait.

“Rob.” Bred calls from behind me and I quicky turn only to find him pointing a gun at me while walking towards me.

He is so going to kill me.
