"Katsuki's birthday is this weekend, right?"
Izuku nodded, emerald eyes glued to the pink-haired woman.
"What're you planning on getting him?" Ashido questioned, sitting back against the oversized tire of her truck. Midoriya shrugged, wincing at the pain in his shoulder. It was scorching hot outside, yet his crew was stuck working again to pave a new road. Working in construction wasn't what he had planned to get into, as a kid. But the pay was good and he was good at his job. He loved the people he worked with, but hated the fact that it was physically demanding and caused him a lot of pains throughout his body.
"Mm, I don't know. I know he mentioned something about going on a date, but I haven't had the chance and our schedules haven't been the best lately. I'm thinkin' I'll take some time off for once, Saturday, and go out with him. Just me and him, alone." He mumbled, taking a sip from his water bottle.
"Ooh, that sounds cool!" Mina smiled. "And as a gift, you could give him some sexy time." She winked, earning a frown of disgust from the tired-looking greenette.
"Sheesh, I haven't done that in months. He's not too pushy when it comes to sex and I'm thankful for that. Besides, my body's not as flexible as it used to be. I'm always sore and stiff, thanks to this shitty job." He whined, rubbing his eyes. Mina thought for a moment, examining the darkness that had set on the skin beneath Izuku's emerald eyes.
"Don't you sleep? I mean, you're always whining about how you're tired and sore. You're married to a massage therapist, for fuck's sake! And it's not like we have night shifts." She shrugged.
"I can't sleep, since I'm always in pain, Mina. And Katsuki goes to work everyday. I'm not gonna start asking him for free home massages. That's weird. Heck, we barely even touch each other as it is. He kisses me every now and then, but that's pretty much it." The small male spat, eyes glued to the rubble beneath his feet. The sound of machinery resonated throughout the street as he spoke again. "And, we're not married. Just dating."
"Jeez, that's sad." The pink-haired woman teased, shaking her head. Midoriya frowned as the sound of a whistle was heard, followed by the voice of one of their coworkers. All eyes made their way towards the black-haired man who stood a few meters away.
"Break's over, get back to work."
"Oh my god... This is fucking horrible." Izuku muttered to himself, struggling to make his way up the stairs to his apartment. He was used to this; getting home from work, exhausted and aching. Every muscle in his body screaming in pain after spending the entire day in the hot sun to shovel debris and move heavy things around. He had thought about quitting his job and finding something not too physically demanding, but that would mean a lower salary and maybe night shifts.
Freckled fingers wrapped around the door handle, pushing it open to the smell of delicious curry brewing on the stove.
"Ah, you're home. Welcome back." Emerald eyes made their way onto a familiar blonde who sported a smile all while placing plates on the dinner table. "How was your day, love?"
