Together till the end ~ a rini story

Chapter 4

Everything in Nini's life has been going well. She has a boyfriend and her job is taking off. She made up with Ricky and he accepted that she had a boyfriend and there were boundaries made on purpose. Today they were going to Vegas for the weekend.

"You got everything?"

"Yup." She threw the last bag into the trunk and sat down in the passenger seat. That was her respected spot. She grabbed Franklin and put him on her lap. soon after, she grabbed the AUX cord and turned on her playlist.

"Really? More Taylor swift?"

"Yes! What do you have against her?!"

"Nothing! I'm just saying."

"Sure you are." She rolled her eyes at him because he was disrespecting her mother. (Taylor swift) Little did she know that Ricky was hiding a huge secret. Ricky met Lily and they became a couple 1 week ago. He had no clue how he was gonna tell Nini.

He turned down the volume of the music and started talking. "Neens, Can we talk?" That was just about the worst thing a girl could hear.

"Uh...sure. What's on your mind?"

"Well, you know Lily?"

"Yeah....why?"

"Well she asked me to be her boyfriend and now we are dating." She was left shocked, angry, and heartbroken for some odd reason.

"Oh. Well...Good for you. I'm happy for you." she lied. she had no clue why she was thinking like this because they were best friends and she had a boyfriend.

"Oh?"

"Yeah...It was just a shock. But for real, I'm happy for you." She cracked a fake smile. He smiled back, oblivious to her lie. She rolled over and put a pillow over her head and attempted to sleep but she could not stop thinking about what her best friend just told her. As soon as they get to the hotel, she planned to have him go pick up a pizza so she could sob on the bathroom floor which was normal for nini. it happened often.

Nini has been dating Jason for a month and she was glad to get away from him. Sometimes, things just got too intense. There was constant fighting and one time, he even hit her. But she did not think anything of that and it was NOT in the cards to tell Ricky about that. She planned to sit tight until she can't take it.

On the other hand, Ricky never wanted to date Lily but she asked him. And when she did, he took 2 days to think about it because he was thinking about a different girl. His 5'5, brunette, brown-eyed best friend. he finally caved and said yes but a part of him did not want that. He still wanted nini. But she already found someone to please her. He often found himself day-dreaming about Nini. He's even writen songs for her that he wanted and hoped to play for her someday but for now, the best thing he could do was step back and watch.

They finally got to the hotel and he went out to pick up dinner. Just like Nini thought, she cried and relised how bad and toxic her elationship was and she was so mad that Ricky would not be there fo her when she fell.

She herd the door open and she stood up from the bathroom floor and touched up her makeup.

"Neens?" He asked when he herd sniffling. "Nini, are you in there?"

"Yeah. I'm fine I just got out of the shower and my nose is running."

"Oh alright." That was the worst exscuse ever so now she had to splash her hair with water. Once she did that, she wrapped her body in a towel to make her look believable. When she walked out, she saw that he had picked up Chinese food instead plus a bottle of wine. She smiled at the thought that he did that for her. He smiled back at her and she contiued to go get clothes, Ricky keeping his eyes on her the whole time. Once she was changed, she came up to ricky to thank him.

"Ricky, this is amazing! Thank you so much! You did not have to do this you know."

"Well I'm just doing something for someone I care about." She smiled big. He would pay $1000 everyday just to see that smile on her face. She got onto her tippy toes and pecked his cheek.

"what happened to boundrys?"

"We can let that go just for tonight." He smiled and hugged her.

"I missed you, princess."

"Me too."

They were chilling in bed watching a show when Ricky said something to Nini.

"You ever noticed how pretty and cute you are?" She was taken aback by his approch. She blushed at his words and sat up from her former position. She smiled but it faultered when her eyes dropped down to his lips. She put her hand on his neck and they both leaned in before soon after locking lips. The pulled away for a breif moment before he pulled her back in.

~10 minutes later~

It was only now when Nini relised she was cheating on her boyfriend. She stopped and pulled away but Ricky pulled her back but that was for only for her to pull away.

"Ricky...I can't." He looked at her. "We are both in relationships. I mean, how is this going to even work?! we are cheating on the people we are ACTUALLY supposed to be doing this with!" She stood up and walked far away from where he was.

"Neens..."

"Save it. Ricky." She said with a pause between her words.

"I'm just so sorry. Your just always with him and it's like you don't have room for me." she cut him off.

"Yeah. No dip, he's my boyfriend."

"I know. I'm just saying that you know... I thought if I could proove it to you it would change your mind and I don't know.... You would come back?"

"So your saying your doing this just to spend time with me?! Not to I don't know... be intimate?!"

"Neens..."

"Don't call me that." She snapped. He was struck by her approch.

"Nini! I'm sorry! Look, this was my fault and I did not do it because I wanted just to spend some time with you! I did want to be intimate and close with you but-" She cut him off by grabbing her bag and walking out the door.

"stop! Nini, don't be dramatic! Come back!" She let silent tears fall down her face as she ignored him. She got into the elevator and called a cab to take her to the airport.

By the time she was on the plane back home, Ricky was in his car. His phone was dead so he pluged it in. But when he grabbed his charger, he grabbed something else. he looked down to see her sunglasses and perfume that he got her for her 17th birthday, her Taco Bell wrapper and stuffed teddy bear from when she was little. Just the thought of her made his eyes water because deep down, he loved her so much. So much so, that it hurt. He grazed his fingers over her things and took a deep breath.

"I love you Nini."
