Oakley Arison, she had so much yet nothing all at the same time. Bleeding into her chords, she promised that she would make their deaths worth something. That she would be exceptional. The posh well known lifestyle and pretentious foster parents was...

My hand shakes as I sign myself in at the register in the arts centre, the pen dragging wobbly as I print my name.
The women nods and gives me the go ahead to head backstage and wait until the competition starts.
The arts centre is absolutely beautiful here and larger than I've seen, larger than previous ones the competitions been held at. I walk backstage, my cello safely held in its case on my back, the other competitors dressed elegantly and reviewing their pieces.
I found my reserved waiting seat and sit down, slipping on my headphones playing Beethoven's Cello Sonata No.3, one of the pieces I'd be playing tonight alongside my personal piece.
My mind wanders to the check up at the hotel with the competition advisors, confirming that my performance pieces were entered into the announcements properly and made sure that I was in good condition to play as I played a small composition for them. Stage personnel hurriedly walked all around the contestants, weaving in and out of the stage constantly.

It started a few minutes ago but the teacher wouldn't let us go no matter what so eventually we just slipped out through the back door.
"Shit do you think she already started?" Elijah said worriedly.
"Fuck I hope not" I replied while signing onto the competition page and clicking the livestream button, the page loaded quickly and the video popped up, showing someone zoomed in on just finishing playing. The piece came to a close as the audience applauded as they left the stage.
"Now introducing competitor #3, Oakley Arison of New York, United States. Playing Beethoven's Cello Sonata No.3, alongside the personal piece." The announcer says, and we let out a breath of relief that we didn't miss it.
Oakley emerges from the draped curtains on the side of the large stage. She's wearing a long textured square necked white dress with thin shoulder straps. She's slicked back her hair and left her naturals curls at the back of the low ponytail with the brown ribbon and gold jewellery.
