Elite waits in the line to use the phone patiently. After the detective didn't buy her story of it being a set up by Sarahi, she doesn't know what to do. She needs to find a way to get of jail, fast. She can't take this anymore.

When it's her turn she dials the number of her brother, Epic. He answers and the first thing to come out of his mouth is, "I haven't known peace since your arrest."

"What happened?"

"News cameras outside of the house. People harassing me on social media. Your face and name is everywhere."

Elite doesn't mean to smile, although, she does. This isn't the right type of attention but it's attention nonetheless. "Did my mugshot look good?" she asks with a hand on her hip.

"El, they record these calls. Act like a normal person," he chastises her.

"Did it?" she reiterates.

"It went viral for a reason. Everyone's talking about your eyes.."

"What? It's my signature pose." Elite laughs knowing Epic is shaking his head. She hasn't laughed in days. She's trying to make the best of this situation. "Tyra's controversial now, but she taught the girls how to smize. Okay! I was serving face."

"This isn't Instagram, it's a mugshot."

"Anyway, enough about that. Any luck on the lawyer? If I don't find one soon so they can do a court date, the judge is going to appoint me a public defender."

"Nah, I've been asking everyone I can think of who can do it at a reduced rate. No luck."

"There's only one option..." Elite thinks on it. "Call Holland."

"Holland?" Epic can't help but laugh. "I don't think she'll help you after the falling out you two had. Hell nah!"

"She will because she still owes me a favor. Her whole family does."

"...And her whole family is full of lawyers and judges."

"Exactly. I'm sure they have connections and can find someone willing to take me as a client. When you call, remind her that she owes me so then we won't have to pay. I want a lawyer pro bono, no charge."

"Aiight, I'll try. When can you have visits? I'm tryna come see you."

"I don't know, but you don't need to see me anyway. Jails are some of the most unsanitary places. It's not good for your health. You'll see me at my first court date tomorrow."

They end the call knowing the time is running out anyway. Instead of being taken back to her cell, Elite's taken to an interview room again.

With a groan she's seated at the table. Moments later Detective Roland walks in making her eyes roll. She's tired of talking to him. "Nice to see you too," he smiles sitting across from her.
