Life outside the bullpen

A getaway and a couple surprises 

Jays pov: it's been about a month since porters 11th birthday I can't believe he's 11 already where has time gone also last month we had a busy weekend with all the kids in their sports activities  it was hectic, but it was well worth it to see all the kids have fun and do what they love right now Erin is 34 weeks pregnant with our six baby. We will be meeting this baby soon right now since it's nice out me and Erin took the kids to the park to play in my dad and Danny showed up too to hang out

DW= what a nice day out
PH= oh yeah, especially since it's towards the end of October and it's also Chicago for you
J= well you got to love Chicago you never know when it wants to be cold or hot
E= mother nature is crazy
DW= yes she is
PH= so Erin how are you doing with this pregnancy?
E= I'm doing great I still have a lot of energy at this point so that's a good
DW= oh yeah, OK maybe it's just me but doesn't winter look like she has put on some weight
PH= yeah, I noticed that too
J= well I have noticed lately that winter hasn't been her energetics self that she normally is
E= oh yeah, I have noticed that too
DW= maybe you guys should get her checked out to make sure she's doing OK like health wise
E= oh yeah, I'll go called the vet now
PH= I can't believe Halloween is next Thursday
J= I can't believe it either
DW= so do you guys got the kids Halloween costumes yet?
J= no not yet. We probably should get on that. Hopefully there is still some costumes in the store.
PH= yeah, let's hope so
E= so I just talked to the vet. They have an opening here in about an hour but I'm not sure we can do it.
J= why not
E= well we are here with the kids and I don't want to take them with us, but we don't have anyone to watch them. Specially, on a short notice like now.
DW= oh, actually, you do me and Pat can watch them if you want
PH= yeah, we could
J= all right that works
E= oh yes it does. Thank you guys.
PH= it's no problem

We say see you later to the kids and take wants her to the vet. We live within 30 minutes and then the vet techs winter back to look at her. About 10 minutes later we get called back to go over things.

E= thanks again for getting us in on such short notice
WV= it's no problem we had a cancellation so it worked out for you guys
J= so is our dog OK or not?
WV= well, she is healthy
E= that's good to hear
WV= so we did do some testing on her to see why she gained so much weight and why she isn't her energetics self
J= so what did you find out?
WV= well turns out winter is pregnant
E= wait what really she is pregnant
WV= oh yeah, has she been allowed any dogs in the last month or so?
E= I don't think so
J= um yeah about a month ago me and the kids went to the park with winter in there was this one dog there but I swear I kept my eye on them the whole time
WV= well they must've sneaked out of your eyesight long enough because this girl here is pregnant
E= wow that's crazy so how long until she has the puppies and do you know how many
WV= so based on my measurements, her due date is Thanksgiving, and I guess she is having about six puppies, but she may have more or may have less we won't know until she gives birth
J= oh wow so soon
E= oh yeah, I guess me and winter or pregnant together
WV= oh wow how fun

That explains a couple of things to us and then we leave and head home. We arrive within 20 minutes.

J= hey, we are home
PH= hey guys
DW= so how is our girl?
E= well, she is healthy
PH= that
E= jay why don't you tell him the news that the vet told us
J= all right so besides Erin little winter is also pregnant
DW= wait are you serious?
E= oh yeah, and it's all Jay's fault because he took his eye off of her long enough to get pregnant by some other dog
J= hey in my defense I had to keep my eye on all of the kids too not just a dog
PH= it's all right son it happens
CN= hey, mom and dad
PH= where did you guys take winter
J= well kids we took winter to the vet
JR= wait why
EG= is winter sick
E= no, she isn't baby girl
JW= OK good
J= we brought her to the vet to get a check up like how you guys go to the doctor sometimes
JR= oh yeah
E= well while we were there, the vet told us some crazy news
PJ= what did the vet say?
J= well winter is going to have puppies
EG= wait, no way
CN= that's awesome. Can we keep the puppies when they are born
E= I don't think we will but we will think about keeping one maybe all right
PJ= all right mom
EG= so mom I got a question
E= you do what your question maybe girl
EG= does our little brother or sister have a name yet
E= no they don't
J= we really haven't thought about a name yet
CN= why not
E= well we have been busy plus since we don't know the gender we haven't thought of a name since we still don't know if it's gonna be a boy or a girl
DW= makes sense
JR= did you guys have our names picked out before we were born
JW= or did you guys win till we were born to come up with a name?
J= we picked all your names out before you guys were even born
CN= maybe you should make a list of names for both boys and girls so you can narrow it down after the baby is born
E= that's a great idea and how about you guys pick an email you like how does that sound
PJ= that sounds great
J= so everyone go and get their iPads, and bring it back here so we can start looking at names you guys like
CN= all right ( they leave)
E= thanks again for watching them for us
DN= it's no problem they are good kids
PH= and besides, we are family
J= oh yeah
DW= so I have a question for you guys
E= you do what's up
DW= I'm wondering when is the last time you guys had like a couple days to yourself?
J= it's been a while
E= I'm thinking maybe the last time we had a long time without the kids was our five year anniversary trip
DW Wow that's a long time Ago
J= oh yeah
DW= well the reason why I ask that is because each time my daughter and her husband was pregnant they did a baby moon same with my son and his wife
E= oh yeah, we did that each time we were pregnant too
PH= are you guys going to do that this time around too
J= I don't know
E= I don't think so
PH= why not
E= well our lives are crazier now in with this baby coming I want to spend as much time with the kids before the baby comes
DW= makes sense, but wouldn't you like to have a little vacation before the baby is here
J= yeah, it would be nice
E= but what would we do with the kids while we are away?
DW= well I was thinking, maybe you guys go away for a couple days and me and Pat would be able to watch the kids for you
E= wait no way we couldn't ask you to do that
DW= well you're not asking we are offering, so what do you say?
J= I say we do it
E= OK but only for a couple days like a weekend
PH= all right that works
DW= that's great to hear
PH= we better get going so we can meet up with the kids for dinner
DW= oh yeah, great idea before we go. I have to go use the restroom so be right back
E= all right
PH= so when do you think you'll take your baby moon
J= maybe in the next couple weeks
E= it's either got to be this weekend or next because after that, I'll be so close to my due date and minus carmyn I've been going earlier and earlier each time I go into labor with the kids so I'm guessing with this baby being my fifth August sooner than I did with the twins
PH= oh, yeah, well call us when you decide to go on your baby moon
J= Will do
DW= all right I'm ready to go
PH= all right see you guys later
E= see you, Pat and Dani ( they leave )
PJ= here we are
EG= wait where did grandpa and Dani go?
J= well ember they had to leave
E= but you will see them again super soon
CN= I hope so because I love grandpa's girlfriend Dani
PJ= oh yeah, she is so cool
J= oh yeah, super cool
E= so kids did you guys figure out some baby names that you guys like?
CN= oh, yeah
J= well we will start with Porter then go down the line and birth order with one boy name, and one girl name you like
E= sounds good to me. Are you guys ready?
All= yes we are
J= all right buddy go ahead
PH= OK so the boy name I like is Aidan the girl name I like is Kennedy
E= great names next up is carmyn
CN= so the boy name I like, is Cooper in the girl name I like is Sadie
J= good names next ember
EG= so the boy name I like is Ezra and the girl name I like is Josie
E= those are great names now Jaxson you're up
JR= so the boy name I like is Ryder in the girl name I like is Quinn
J= great names now last up is Jonah
JW= so the boy name I like is Sawyer and the girl name I like is Spencer
E= great names everyone we will figure out a name once the baby is here so we got a good list going. Thanks you guys.
