What's wromg

Erin's POV: it's been a little over a month since Mother's Day and jay and the kids surprised me with breakfast in bed and some gifts for the kids, Porter is done with his Little school for the summer. Next year he'll be more in a preschool kind of class right now ember is 10 months old and she is calling and talking all over the place, right now jay and I are at work doing some paperwork when all of a sudden his phone starts to ring

E= who is it
J= its will be right back

I let him leave the room for second with and I follow him into the locker room

E= hey
J= ( puts a finger up ) all right will i'll see what I can do ( hangs up)
E= what's wrong
J= my dad is in the hospital
E= he is what happens to him
J= I guess we all went to check on him and found him passed out and turns out that he had a heart attack
E= oh jay is he okay
J= Right now he is but he is in surgery and will wants me to come to bed so that someone can be there to sit beside  since he is on call in the ER
E= do you want to
J= not really but I'll do it for Will but I got to see if hank can let me leave work early today
E= I thank he will
J= I hope so ( into hanks office) hey Hank you got a second
HV= yeah Jay what's up
J= so will just called and told me that my dad is in the hospital because he had a heart attack and he wants me to come and sit beside my dad at the hospital  Since he is on call in the yard he wants somebody to be with our dad at all times so I'm asking can I leave work early
HV= well as long as you have your paperwork done you can leave same with Erin tell her she can leave also
J= all right thanks and we will get the paperwork done ASAP ( leaves his office)
E= so what did he say
J= he said that me and you can go if only we get our paperwork done
E= all right well mine is done let me help you with yours
J= all right
E= let's do

I helped Jay with his papers we get it done within 10 minutes so we head off to hospital to see his dad we arrive within 15 minutes and start looking for Will

WH= hey guys
E= hey will
J= so how is he
WH= he is doing good he just got out of surgery everything went good
E= that's good to hear
J= is he in recovery yet
WH= Yes he is following me I want you to him
E= all right

We follow will  to go see their father

WH= hey Dad you got some visitors
PH= tell them to go away
WH= come on don't be like that it's Jay and his wife Erin
PH= tell Jay I don't want him here because he never cares about me
J=  are you kidding me I left work for nothing let's go Erin let's see our kids
E= all right ( they started to leave)
WH= wait guys dad didn't mean it please just stay do it for me
J= fine I will but only for you and only for a couple hours
WH= that's all I asked
E= are you sure you want to stay because we can leave if you want
J= not really but I will stay only for my brothers sake
E= all right
J= so will how is Natalie and the kids doing
WH= they are doing good Owen is getting ready to be in for school
E= oh man that's exciting
J= he is growing up so much we need a play date with Owen and Charlotte
WH= totally how are my nieces and nephew
E= they are great
J= ember is crawling everywhere right now
PH= wait jay  has kids so I have more grandkids that I haven't met yet
J= Wait has dad met Owen in Charlotte
WH= yes they have they love their grandpa Pat
E= that's a good thing right
J= I need a second ( he leaves)
WH= Jay come on it's no big
E= i'll go after him
WH= thank you

I run  after Jay and find him outside of the hospital

E= hey what's going on
J= how come will let him get to know his kids
E= maybe Will thinks he is better now
J= no way he still the same as he always has been
E= maybe having grandkids so soften him up a little bit
J= call I hope so but I don't think I'll ever have our kids meet him or be around him
E= how about we give him a chance to know his grandkids
J= no way not a chance
E= come on Jay we gave my mom a chance
J= Yeah but we don't know how that
E= okay fair point there but your dad never did drugs like my mom did right
J= right
E= so  he way better parent than bunny ever won
J= I guess that's a good point
E= how about we go in there maybe tell her about art wonderful kids we have and then go from there
J= all right

We head back inside to be with Chase that we tell him how great our kids are and what they want to do about two hours later we leave and head home and be with our kids, We also think about if we weren't Jay's dad to me or kids anytime soon or be of part of their lives.

Jay's POV: it's been a little over a month since Mother's Day I was so happy we got to celebrate Erin for being the most amazing mom ever and I got to introduce her to my mom when they went to visit her grave stone. Ember is a little over 10 months old and she's crawling all over the place and talking up a storm. About a week ago I got a call from my brother will saying that my dad had a heart attack and was at the hospital and he wanted me to come and see him. When I showed up my dad was his normal self but after a few hours it seemed like maybe he has change and things got better for me and my dad's relationship. It's been a couple nights later since I visit in the hospital , right now me and Erin are at home hanging with the kids when I got a text from Will

E= let Because it was Will
J= oh yeah
E= what did he want
J=  he wanted me to know that dad is finally home
E= well that's good to know
J= also I guess dad wants to know if we could come to his house so the kids can meet him
E= wow so what do you think
J= I don't know it went pretty well that day but I'm not sure I'm ready for my kids to meet my dad already
E= I get that but we will be with the kids when they meet him it's not like he can kidnap them inside the house
J= that's a good point
E= so what do you say
J= I guess we can go  see him right now
E= all right that's good

I text will back saying that we will be at dad's house here shortly and he texted back said can't wait. me and Erin Get our stuff and the kids stuff together and head off to my dads house, we arrive within 20 minutes

J= so we are here
E= wow this is nice kids let's go see where daddy grow up and see his old house
CN= yes
PJ= let's go mom
EG= daddy

We get out of the car and walk right inside the house

J= hey will we are here
WH= we are in the living room ( they walk into the living room)
PH= hello Jay
J= hey dad how are you
PH= much better now that I'm home
E= that's good to hear Mr. halstead
PH= Nonsense call me pat since I am your father in law
E= all right par will do
PH= so let me guess these are my other grandkids
J= yes they are so that little man over by Erin is Porter
PH= hey Porter nice to meet you I'm will and jay's dad pat
PJ= Hello Pat nice to meet you
E= and this little girl is Camryn say hi to grandpa Pat
CN= hi grandpa pat
PH= hi Camryn you look like your mom
E= I think she has jay's eye
PH= I can see it
J= and this Little girl that's in my arms is miss ember wave to grandpa ( she does)
PH= hello miss ember May I hold her
E= if she will let you she's pretty shy also she's a very happy Daddys girl
PH= oh really that's amazing come here ember ( holds our his arms and ember goes to him)
J= wow she must like you
PH= must be so how old is she
E= she is 10 months old
J= she is calling and talking all the time now
PH= I bet
E= hey Camryn and Porter do you want to sit next to grandpa Pat
CN= sure mom

We hang out at my dads house for a while when that staying for dinner so we all ate a pizza that we ordered. We stayed until one of the kids started to get fussy so we left but before we left we came up with a day we're all his grandkids can come around and he could hang out with them all . once we get home me and Erin go put the kids to bed and then we meet up on the couch

E=  and the girls are asleep
J= so is Porter
E= so how are you feeling after hanging out with your dad today with the kids
J= I guess I feel fine
E= so how do you think it went
J= I think it went better than expected
E= that's good I think the kids love him don't you think
J= yeah I think ember stayed pretty calm in  his arms while he was holding her
E= yes she did which is pretty good to know
J= oh yeah
E= so do you think in the long run it worked out to see your dad again
J= I think it worked out perfectly so I guess you were right
E= went I was what say that again
J= no way I'm saying that again
E= oh come on
J= i'll make it up to you but not by saying you were right
E= then how are you going to make it up to me

Before I answer Erin I pick her up and carry her to the bedroom to thank her with a rounded or two of scrabble. After we end up falling asleep over the next couple weeks the kids see my dad more and more and I am happy he has change so much since I was younger and he acts great with the kids.

Authors note: I hope you like this will chapter I did about Jay and his father getting along again I felt like maybe it was time to read a chapter about Jay's dad I hope I did the jay and will's dad's Pat justice.
