The Domain of Dragon Lord Vunkur was being read a report, or rather, the lack of reports returning from the Empty Quarter. They sent 10 parties of seasoned adventurers, and not one, not a single one, had reported back yet. A week in the Empty Quarter was more than enough time to investigate and travel well about half of the lands and return.

The page that had informed the Blue dragon, was a Dragonborn. Lord Vunkur, being a blue dragon, was annoyed.

"Have a patrol of Wyvern riders go and investigate. There may be a growing power that we need to vanquish before it becomes bothersome." Vunkur said.

The dragonborn page nodded, not resisting the ideas of the Lord of the Domain. The Page would take the many stairs down towards the resting spot of the Wyvern Knights. Upon entering the cave, the Page, the Red scaled dragon, Gethtesh, approached the gold scaled Dragonborn captain, Lencad Frokris.

"Sky Captain, I have been given an order by Lord Vunkur. They would like you to fly over the Empty Quarter. The Adventurers have not returned. This may be a sign of a growing horde. We need to find what it is, before it has a chance to become a potential threat." Gethtesh explained.

"The Dragon Lord has wisdom that we may not comprehend. We shall take flight and search the lands, for what may threaten our domain." Lencad said, before he moved to his Wyvern. Several more Wyvern riders moved, mounting theirs. The Wyverns began to move towards the entrance, and ran, before taking a leap and  took flight.

The Squad of 10 Wyverns flew over the barrier mountains.

With a speaking stone in hand, Lencad communicated with his men.

"We are to do recon, and then we return back after we find what we can see, we will return and formulate a strategy to counter." Lencad said.

In the distance, one noticed a glint of light.

"What is that?" One rider asked, confused.

Suddenly with a loud roar, a very fast moving object moved by, and roared again.

They looked around, scanning the skies.

"Flying swords?" One asked.

The Wyvern rider moved and raised it's staff, sending a ball of fire towards the flying sword, and missed by dozens of feet.

"What the hell is that?" Another asked, as it turned towards them.

The Flying sword moved at a distance, still moving much faster than the wyverns, and moved in some sort of orbit

"Just bring it down!" Lencad ordered, before raising his staff and casting a bolt of lightning, still missing.

More bolts of fire, lightning and even lances of ice and light were cast, all missing. the sword. It turned tightly and speed off, flying into the distance.

"That is.....what in the underworld? We need to return to the domain, and tell what happened." Lencad said, confused.

He steered his Wyvern to return towards the Domain the Dragons, to give their report. They were now needing to form an army, cause something beyond their knowledge had appeared into the Empty Quarter.

-Meanwhile, in the Western Seas-

The Elves had rounded the Cape of the Fiery Wing, and were starting their voyage towards the north, and to the Empty Quarter.

The Captain, Carlos GoldThread, was standing on the box.

"We have a spotted a ship on the coast, flag unknown." an elf spotter said.

"Any signifiers of the origin?" Carlos asked.

"No clear origin. We think It may be a new dragon ship." the spotter said.

"Prepare the boarding hooks. The Spell casters should also be ready, Freeze the water under it and we will board the ship." Carlos said.

In his fleet, he had 8 ships. The ships began to move towards the ship, as it moved away from the coast. The ship kept it's side to the fleet.

"What is it doing?" Carlos asked, confused.

As they got closer, close enough they could see movement on the deck, the side of the ship blasted smoke, before a roar was heard, and one of the ships had it's mask break in half, as a gash was blasted open along the side. Two more ships were hit, listing to the side, and starting to turn, as they crashed into each other.

The thunder and smoke filled the air again, before a hole was blasted, sending wood back and impaling a few men with shrapnel spray from the broken railing. The top level of the ship fired smoke and Carlos turned to see the helmsmen having their upper body missing and the wheel broken at the post.

"Oars men! Start moving back. Hoist the sails up! We need to get away." Carlos ordered.

His ship started to turn, oars moved out, and started to row, turning the ship. Carlos turned, seeing a figure standing on the raised platform, simply watching, before smoke fired again. The ship to their left who had mages raising their staves was hit and the mages were torn to shreds by the railing breaking.

"What are these things, and what is this thunderous sound!" Carlos questioned, scared. The two crashed ships were hit again, before they started to sink.

Some men jumped from the ships, trying to get away and move towards other ships, that started to turn away from the ship. Smaller ships moved from behind the smoke sprewing ship, and fired singular blasts of thunder. Carlos watched as the ship to his left had what looked like a long tear rip through the side, breaking dozens of oars in a row.

"Retreat! RETREAT!" Carlos shouted, before cheering was heard coming from the mysterious ships, the flag was that of a black bird.

The image of the 3 limping ships was burned into Carlos's mind once he realized how much danger these strangers were. They magic that should have protected she ship was stripped away, and left only dead, weak ships, that may end up not being able to limp home.

-Meanwhile The northern lands-

A party of Beast hunters, were riding out. A bounty, some dangerous animals must have appeared, and now the Giants wanted it dead. They theorized what it might be Some thought it may be a Chimera, or even a Sphinx that had caused such problems.

The party had traveled a days distance, and were taking a path into the forest. They had found a body of a goliath, it has a deep stab wound in it's chest, with dozens on it's hands and legs. Some thought it may be the Yaun-ti, who they had pushed from the lands attempting to regain power.

The party was observant, but didn't really know what to expect. Suddenly, one of the Teiflings traveling with them was struck by an arrow, sending him to the ground, as they were suddenly attacked on by both sides.

A cry was heard "BANZAI!" screamed by armored figures. Arrows and clouds of smoke flew from the forest, as well as people charging with long spears, glaives and swords rans out. THe goliath with them, one named Kuothio Goataid Egena-Vavi, held her axe up, before she got hit by a dozen of sharp pains that made her faint, as blood trickled from her back.

The firbolgs attempted to have their magic slow down who ever attacked them, but when the people with spears stabbed them, they fell quickly. The Teiflings who were part of the party held out as long as they could, parrying and dodging strikes, they were even able to kill a few who were less armored, only to be cut down by the other two who leapt into their fallen comrades place.

One Teifling rushed and got on the horse, running away and abandoning their friends as fast as he could. Looking back, two of the strangers chased after, one pulling out a bow, and drawing back an arrow. The arrow fired, and hit him, before they rode back, the horse still running, and would continue to go, until it reached the lands that it had come from, the realm of the Giants.

The body of it's rider still on, the arrow still lodged into the back. The only symbol, that the threat there, was not to be treated lightly.
