Fourteen: Slowly coming out of the shadows.
Wunmi💕
The lake house felt boring without Dale and Jesse, Alex was all mopey and upset that Jesse was no longer around to make jokes and join her in making fun of everyone and everything and I just missed dale a lot. After skinny dipping together in the lake, we slept in each other's arms as we talked about everything and anything. I told him about school, my life as a London elite, my parents, my friends and he listened to it all. I deeply talked about my passion for art and how I'll really love to pursue it as a career but can't because of my stuck up parents.
He also told me about his life as a child, the funny memories he had with his mum before she passed away. I even found out that he had a twin sister which surprised me a lot cos i never expected him to have a twin.
He explained how close they both were and how much mischief they both pulled as kids, while he talked about her i could see the sadness in his eyes and how much he missed her and it made me wonder deeply why he ran away from his family.
Her name was Kendra, and he told me how she begged him to stay back before the night he ran away and he deeply regrets leaving her all alone and suffers each night hoping that she forgives him.
Listening to him slowly open up to me made me see him in a different light and allowed me to realize how much burden he was carrying and I couldn't help but want to give him all the comfort i could.
Dale was so strong, i don't exactly know the inner details of what really went wrong in his past but i could see how much of a traumatic experience it was to affect him and make him run away from it all not bothering to look back..
My phone beeped showing I had a text message, opening it up i saw it was from my brother asking when I'll be back home. His text made me smile because I knew underneath all of that teenage angst was a sweetheart who was just afraid to show love.I immediately replied him adding unnecessary emojis just to annoy him with a smile on my face when Demi bursted into my room with a cheeky smile.
"Hey love." He greeted with a wink
"Hi Demi, what's up?" I asked as i watched him walk towards my bed and lying on it his eyes still on me holding a delightful twinkle to it."Nothing much, just wanted to chill with my favorite girl.." he said with a smile causing me to chuckle..
"You're bothering me with your face, leave." I playfully ordered him causing him to laugh moving closer to sit next to me on the bed.
"Nope, I'm staying. I haven't gotten the chance to hang alone with you all week.""Oh I see, so you missed my company.." I teased him with a smirk causing him to laugh softly.
"Don't get ahead of yourself too much love.." he answered with a smile.
"What?!" I argued back laughing.. "it's true.. you so missed me." I winked causing him to laugh.
"Shut up Wunmi.. so you ready to go back to London?" He asked"Well this holiday has been fun but I kinda need to go back to face reality." I answered
"Same here.." he said with a soft sigh..
"What's wrong Demi? Is something going on?" I asked in worry
"Not really love, just having a little problem with my team.. apparently I'm not really good at being a leader" he answered blowing out a defeated breath."Hey look at me, you're an amazing leader. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise okay. I've seen you on the field and you're really amazing, and the way you always lead your team to victory.. it's really cool Demi." I said giving him an encouraging look causing his lips to quirk up in a small smile.
"Thanks love.." he replied."Anytime Demi.. remember I always have your back." I said nudging his shoulder.
"I know, and I have yours too." He said with a smile giving me a short kiss on the cheek.
"Demiii.. don't do that" I whined playfully wiping my cheeks causing him to laugh cheekily at my actions
"Wanna watch a movie?" He asked picking up my iPad.
"Yeah sure.."

Dale
Walking into a tech pop up shop, I took slow steps leading to the phone store deciding to stop hiding and just do this. When I told Jesse I was getting a mobile phone he was so excited about it and told me I was making the best decision.
"Hi, welcome. What can I get you?" The assistant asked me with a bright smile on her face.
