The Apocalypse

Stuck in a mall

"Run, run" Lucian yelled and they all ran but those that couldn't run fast enough was immediately caught up to and eaten by the zombies.
Katherine was beginning to feel lightheaded which made her slow down drastically but thanks to Henry, he quickly carried her and ran. For the fact that he was carrying Katherine, he still ran faster then a few of the students. With all the zombies chasing and Katherine getting more light headed, she passed out.
After minutes of running and few people dying, they finally got shelter in a mall. "Ooh Kale." one of the students named charlotte starts to cry on seeing her best friend turned to the zombies. One by one, they started grieving except for Kate, Lucian, Henry, Trudy and June.
"You just had to scream hun?" Charlotte angrily said at Trudy who was no other than the principal's spoilt daughter. Trudy scoffed at her "it's not my fault she couldn't run." She ordered her two birds of the same feathered friends to follow her.

   Conner and Delvin had gotten back home from their dangerous little treasure hunt to the safety of the house "Where were you guys? Do you know how worried I was?" Clara asked them questions upon questions not allowing them to answer.
"Sorry mum, we just went out to have fun" Delvin finally answered once she was done with her questions "Having fun? In this zombified world or country or-or area?" She scolded them both including Conner as if he was her own child. Conner was shocked with what Clara was doing. He didn't know what motherly and fatherly love was because his father was and is still the commander while his mother was pretty much unknown to him.
   "Listen to me young man, how old are you?" Clara asked Conner angrily "17 ma'am." He stood at attention for an unknown reason and that moment he felt what it feels like for a mother to worry even though he wasn't her son, she cared. "S-seventeen?" Clara's hot head was immediately drowned in cold water. "You look so huge and not young," she said shockingly.
Clara wasn't the only one shocked, Delvin was also shocked "So you're just one year older than I am," Delvin was trying to make some sense out of what Conner said. "My father is the commander so he started training me since I was as little as 4," Conner tried to extinguish the flames by explaining a bit about himself.
   "Did you wanted to be a soldier?" Clara soften up towards Conner "No, I wanted to be a screen writer," he answered " ooh Conner." Clara gave him a sympathetic hug as if she knew how he felt.
"Am okay," Conner said awkwardly "Ooh sorry." She cleared her throat "You guys are off the hook" she said and left to do whatever she was doing.

Henry had laid Katherine down to rest but deep inside, he was more worried about his sister than the zombies. "Hey." Lucian tossed a can of coke at him and he caught it.
"You know she's gonna be okay right?" Lucia said trying to calm Henry down "Yeah." He took a deep breath then exhaled heavily.
Night time had come and the students were sleepy but Katherine hadn't woken up yet "You guys should go to sleep," Charlie's deep voice echoed around a little part of the mall.
Some students took clothes to put on the floor so as to lay down, some slept on the chairs, some slept on the table and some just refused to sleep,  Henry for example but they were not scattered no matter where they slept.
   Hey, you got to sleep Henry," Lucian said " I'll sleep later," he replied almost immediately and Lucian was getting worried so he volunteered to watch Katherine but Henry still refused to sleep.
Lucian knew that nothing could be done so he stayed with Henry over the night while 3 teachers stayed on guard duty, the remaining went to sleep.
