1975

The first four years at Hogwarts had been a blast. Lilac had made so many friends, she was top of her classes, her teachers adored her and Gilderoy was dating her. Fleamont did not like Gilderoy. Much too self-centred to be in a relationship with his daughter.

"Lilac!" Euphemia called from downstairs. Lilac, who had been in her room, writing to Gilderoy went down to see what her mother needed. It was no secret that Euphemia and fleamont were on the older side, so Lilac volunteered to help as much as she can to keep her parents strong and comfortable

"Would you mind going grocery shopping?" Euphemia asked

"Of course mum" She smiled and went to James' room, where he was listening to his radio while writing to Remus.

"James, I need to go shopping for mum, come with me?" She asked

"Sure, let me just finish this letter and we can head off, yeah?" He smiled.

The duo walked to the store, well James walked. Lilac was on his back laughing as he cracked jokes.

"Then we walked around his garden. His house is beautiful" Lilac told her brother.

"Yeah, but he is a dud."

"James, he is not a dud"

"He is such a dud, it is unreal."

"Okay, stop. Gil is a sweetheart" She frowned as she jumped off his back and grabbed a trolley.

"Yeah, alright" He laughed, following his sister into the shop

"So, say for example Gilderoy had to pick between dating you or never having grey hair?"

"Oh he'd pick to never have grey hair." She smiled

Gilderoy was incredibly narcissistic. Lilac, of course  knew this and they have argued about it several times, but he would make Lilac feel like she had hurt him.

"Doesn't that upset you?" James asked as he pushed the trolley, watching as his sister put some chicken in the metal cart.

"Not really, he just likes to look his best" She shrugged

"Even Sirius isn't that bad" James told his twin, who rolled her eyes

"James, I don't think you are in the position to tell me about how my boyfriend should be treating me. We have been together since Valentines of first year. If anything had happened I would have left him" Lilac smiled at her concerned brother as they walked around the shop. Once they had finished the shop, they headed home and put away the shopping before going out to the garden and having a game of catch with one of James' many quaffles.

"Have you heard from Moony?" Lilac asked, catching the Quaffle

"Yeah, he had is coming here for a few nights with Pete. I asked Sirius but some distant cousin of his is getting married, probably to some uncle of theirs" he shrugged while Lilac laughed

The Noble House of Black are known for marrying each other in the name of blood purity. Creepy.

"Marena and Evie are coming for a few nights as well"

"Mum and dad never let our friends over at the same time." James frowned

"Your father and I just think it would be alright to have your friends round, James, you have been in your room all summer and Lilac, love as much as your father and I appreciate the help, you need to be a kid and have some fun."

"Mum-"

"No. You both need to have some fun and your father and I are feeling much better" Euphemia smiled honestly.
