We sit for dinner as I sigh to myself.

Peeta is telling Katniss how he has a low chance at winning. I doubt that. He has great potential.

"And Y/n. I heard that you are basically a legacy. Pure intelligence and hunting? Little speed and strength as well? " Cinna asks as I shake my head.

"No. I was never taught to hunt. That's Katniss's thing. I think normally. I'm as strong as any other teenage girl. And I run at a normal pace" I say as Peeta looks at me.

I'm average. I will always be average.

"No Y/n that's not true. At the school house you always got perfect marks. And you ran a lot through the woods when you got stressed" he says.

"How would you know that she did that? " Kat asks as he shrugs.

That's a good question. Does he actually pay that much attention to me?

"Seen it a lot. She would just bolt through town and go to the woods" he says as I look down blushing.

Oh. Right.

"Anyways I have great outfit choices for the show tomorrow! Y/n! I have a special made thing just for you. Of course Kat I have something for you as well" Cinna says as I take a bite of food.

"It's a surprise? " I ask as he nods.

The next day Kat gets called on stage.

She talks a lot and then does twirls on stage. Fire dancing on the fabric of her skirt.

She has natural beauty. Not me. She looks so angelic even in dark times.

I get called up and I look at Peeta. He sends me a small smile and I head up on stage.

"Y/n L/n! I love the red wings! " the host says. His name is like Caesar. Like ceaser salad dressing but pronounced funny. I'mma call him ceaser salad actually.

I'm wearing a red flowly dress with red wings on my back.

"Why thank you! I had a lovely dresser!" I say as the crowd laughs.

"Can you fly with them? " he asks as I shrug.

"Meh don't feel like falling off of stage" I say as the crowd laughs again.

"Well what do they do? "

"This! " I say as I raise my arms and the wings lift up as flames cover them.

"Wow! Just like a phoenix! Reborn from the flames and a great spirit! " ceasers salad says.

I sit down and smile.

"I wish. If I could be reborned I would totally be a cloud that just floats in the sky" I say as the crowd laughs again.

They seem really enlightened by me.

"Well don't we all want that? It was so wonderful to meet you officially. Good luck at the games! " he says as I walk off of the stage.

Kat and I watch the tv as Peeta is up next.

"You got someone at home? " the host asks.

"Nope. I'm single"

"You like anyone? "

"Well yea... "

"Well I bet if you win you can totally get with them after this! "

"She didn't notice me till the reaping" Peeta says as I look at Kat.

She looks as confused as I am.

"Well she will love you when you get back"

"See that's the issue. She came with me"

Of course I just assume he's talking about Kat. He wouldn't ever like someone like me. And that's a fact.

After that we start training.

Of course it's still a mystery of who Peeta likes.

I climb some bars as Kat tells Peeta to throw some weight thing.

When he does I just sigh and drop down from the bar.

I walk over to him and I look at him.

"Why did you do that? " I ask as he shrugs and smiles.

"Just decided to show a little bit of what I'm capable of. Even if I may not win" he says as I just look away.

I see a ginger haired girl do a match up thing with plants.

And a small girl just wandering about.

"You got a shadow" I say to Kat as she notices the girl who was hiding away.

She smiles a little as I leave with Peeta.

Later that night I heard she shot an apple from the mouth of a dead pig.

Well I mean it's dinner and that's all we are talking about.

Peeta isn't here for some reason so I just eat quietly.

The next day came quickly.

And it's the start of the games.

I head into the tube and start going upwards.

And boy am I terrified.
