Chapter 3

I woke up kind of excited and kind of not. I mean I had made a friend and met a boy. And the boy was perfect but taken by the friend. I sighed and got out of bed. I looked at the clock that read 7:00 am. School starts at 8:00 am. I got dressed in some random blue jeans and a random blue t-shirt and my convers. It was only the second day and I already felt like I didn't need to impress anyone. My dad was here this morning and yelled for my brother and I. As always we raced to him. We laughed and all walked out to the car. Well my brother and I raced but my parents walked. They laughed at us and we both got in the back seats. "Rock, paper, scissors." my brother asked. I bit my tongue and nodded. The whole 10 minutes to school we played that game, and when the car stopped Malekei and I both jumped out. My mother laughed and yelled I love you before I closed the door. Malekei was long gone. "Love you too mama" I said running to catch up with Malekei. "Jerk" I said as I walked next to him. "Brat" he smiled back. then we turned opposite ways as his locker was on the opposite hall as mine. Britt was already here I saw her waiting by my locker. And Dayton. And a bunch of cheerleaders. I walked up to her and asked "What's all this?" And she said "What?" I looked behind her at all the people and she said "Oh just some friends" and shrugged. Just some friends? There was like 50 people there. 50 people by my locker. I put the books in my bag in my locker and closed it facing Britt. Cheerleaders boyfriends I am not sure I am ready for this. For having a popular friend. And that is exactly what she is and I didn't realize that till right now. "Ok" I said as Britt linked her arm with mine and we walked to our first class which was debate. We had all but one class together. Last period study hall, the one I had with Dayton. I looked behind us as all those people were following. We walked into debate me, Britt, and Dayton. Everyone was staring. I was so confused. First period, second, third, fourth, and before I knew it, it was the end of the day. I walked back to my locker alone. I closed it ready to go home an there was Dayton. I slightly jumped. He chuckled "Hi" he said. "Um hi" I replied. "You know you're very smart" he said I looked at him questioningly. Then my brother came up and pulled my arm away. I waved bye not wanting to be rude. He waved back and walked away from my locker. "Isn't that Britt's boyfriend?" Malekei asked. "How did you know?" I asked and he said "everyone knows she's the most popular girl in school" my jaw dropped. Well I guess she's not the steriotypical kind of popular girl. The one who hates everyone and is a bitch to any new kids. I smiled and me and my brother walked through the doors of the school. We got home and did what we usually do before going to sleep.
