Harper's POV:
I try to stop the others from getting mad with one another.

Like they could do that sometime else.

We were in our dormitory after all and like any other room, the sound wasn't completely blocked.

Anyone could hear us.

Or did hear us?

Oh Merlin I hope not.

I stood helpless as the two girls fought one another.

They both did a number on each other.

And after what felt like an hour but was only a couple of minutes.

The fight ended with Arabella forfeiting.

Which only happened thanks to Elsa.

I sign in relief stealing a glance at Avery.

She was being odd.

She seemed to be in a daze.

I know her well enough to know she's been off lately.

And this recent behavior wasn't like her.

Or I could be wrong.

"Ave."

I whispered slightly audible.

Her almond eyes met mine for a split second before going back to where they were the whole time.

Directly on Chalice.

I clench my fist to my side.

Not because I was ignored by my Best friend.

No because of her.

Chalice Chesire the self-claimed cousin of Avery.

She was smart yes but wicked at heart.

A part of me never knew why someone like her ended up in our house yet the hat was old maybe it made a mistake.

A terrible mistake.

I watch as her purple iris glare daggers into Arabella.

Arabella was busy apologizing to notice or if she did she didn't care.

After all, she served her ass whooping to chalice already.

I shake my head.

She just accept defeat she probably deserved it anyway.

I barely knew the tall chocolate-skinned girl for long but I knew for a fact she had to be provoked or angered.

In the corner of my eye, I see Anna moving toward Chalice with a look of pity.

I didn't quite like Anna these days but at least she had a stronger heart than me.

I could find a place within me to help her after what she did.

Never will I trust or befriend a Chesire.

To bust with my thoughts I didn't see what took place next only a bright light followed by Anna and the other's screams.

Chalice POV:

I never felt so humiliated and enraged.

She may have bested me in a fight but in a duel that's another story.

My hatred couldn't be clenched.

The thought of Avery's denial of me.

Her family wasn't related to her.

Hurts like a knife.

Avery was always selfish but to openly say that in front of a stranger was.

Not any stranger an annoying pest who can't mind her business not even for. A second angered me.
