A/N: i was talking to a friend the other day and they gave me the energy i needed to dig this draft from out it's grave and finish this... so enjoy 😉
Liam stared at the phone in hand, his eyebrows were raised in confusion, as he tried to understand what the other boy meant in his message.
"I suggest you put your phone away, Liam... unless you want me to confiscate it?" his teacher sighed, as she glared at him, one hand resting on her hip.
The pink burned deep into his face feeling everyone's eyes on him.
"Sorry miss," he apologised awkwardly, quickly taking a second glance down, before sliding it into his pocket.
She nodded in approval, turning back around to face the board.
Theo's message was stuck in his head.
They were just studying, so obviously that's what he ment.
Right?
Did Theo think that it was something more tha-
"Now who can tell me- Liam!" she called once more, regaining his attention.
"Yes?" he asked.
"There is 5 minutes left and I know you're new, but if you do not pay attention I will give you a detention," she warned.
His cheeks were bright pink with embarrassment, everybody's eyes felt as if they were glued to him.
Just 5 more minutes, he reminded himself.
Liam hadn't actually gotten the name of his teacher, but there was definitely no way he was going to ask for it now.
A couples minutes had passed, his lesson was finally over and he seriously couldn't get out fast enough.
Since he was already in some particial trouble with one teacher, what did it matter if he was in trouble with another?
This was an urgent matter after all.
Liam headed straight for the toilets, dumping all his books in between two sinks, allowing him to grab his phone from his pocket and text Theo.
He decided to reply to Theo's instagram message because there was no way he would ever give Theo the satisfaction of using his actual phone number.
LiamDumbarr: Theo?
It took a few minutes, but Theo eventually replied.
TheoKRaeken: Yes cupcake?
LiamDumbarr: I told you not to call me that.
He made a point of adding a period to show his aggression.
God was this boy infuriating.
TheoKRaeken: I'm assuming there was something you wanted to ask me, unless you just wanted to yell at me?
LiamDumbarr: Oh right
LiamDumbarr: Yeah
TheoKRaeken: ???
LiamDumbarr: I was just going to tell you that this is only happening because you wouldn't give up and that whatever you think is going to happen isn't
TheoKRaeken: Where r u?
Had this boy not read the same message he just sent?
LiamDumbarr: What?
TheoKRaeken: Humour me
They were going to talk sooner or later, it might as well be sooner than later.
LiamDumbarr: 2nd floor bathroom
"Cupcake are you in here?" a hushed voice whispered.
"Yeah," he whispered back.
Theo opened up the door fully, entering the bathroom and walking up until they were inches apart.
"Can you back up?" Liam asked.
"Now why would I do that?" Theo teased.
"Cause I like my personal space," he answered.
"I like it too, what a coincidence?" the other boy smirked, as he took another step forward, until Liam was backed up against the wall.
"Theo?"
"Yeah?"
The words froze on his tongue, unable to move with Theo's face inches from him.
If he wanted to he could've moved.
If he wanted to.
This was strangely nice though, but when his bestfriends voice popped into his head he was reminded that Theo wasn't a good person.
"Get- get a-away," he stuttered.
Theo had listened to him for once and had taken a couple steps back, giving Liam some room to breathe again.
"Are you okay, Liam?"
"Yeah, I-I'm fine," he replied.
Theo raised his eyebrows, pulling a face at him that said 'you sure about that?'.
He obviously wasn't, but there was no way he was going to talk to Theo of all people about it, especially when he was pretty sure it was Theo's fault anyways.
"Just remember this is just a study session and nothing else," Liam said, not completely sure who it was directed at anymore.
"Whatever you say, cupcake."
Liam took a deep breath in, and when he released it, Theo was gone.
It wasn't until Theo had left that Liam realised he'd actually used his name, yes he'd used a nickname, but he'd also used his real name when he asked if he was okay.
That's when it hit Liam fully.
Theo had quit the joking and everything else when he'd realised that he might not be okay, that he might have been upset.
Was Mason wrong about Theo?
Could Theo actually be a decent human being, and they'd just gotten the wrong end of the stick?
A/N: the amount of times i had to reread the last two chapters is honestly a bit humiliating..
i did have some other plans for this chapter, but i think this worked a whole lot better :)
