Chapter Four - The Guilty One

I ran as fast as I could, I hadn't run like this in years-I felt like I was flying instead, or if I was, it didn't matter, all I cared about was to save Y/N.

"Why did you do that Y/N?"  I asked myself
"Was it because I didn't invite you? I'm sorry... For being a coward.

When I got to the mine there they were, their body was completely soaked in blood, it seemed so surreal, it couldn't be happening... Not to Y/N please, not to them... I let my emotions aside when I got close to them and checked for vital signs, and I can't stop thanking Yoba they were still alive, it was like a miracle. I did what I could to stop the bleeding and carried them out of the mine.

When we got out there was a crowd waiting for us, they all had a horrific e presión in their eyes. " Let me help you take Y/N, they need to be as steady as possible," said Lewis.

"...let me bring a stretcher" said Maru, rushing up to the hospital so quickly I couldn't say a word. With the help of both Lewis and Mary, we finally put Y/N on the stretcher. I laid my eyes on them and I felt my heart wrecking I saw their deep wounds, they were covered in blood and had such pale looks due to blood loss. I knew I was able to help them, but I couldn't bear to see the person I cared about the most in that state.

We went to the hospital, where with the help of Maru, helped me to heal Y/N's wounds; during that period we didn't speak to each other besides medical stuff regarding Y/N.

"The suture will help them heal faster, I'm impressed it took us 15 stitches on this wound, prescript them some painkillers and some rest, this will have them stay in their house for a while..." Said Maru.

"Thanks, Maru, you're a good friend"

"I'm just doing my job, doctor Harvey."

It has been so long since she referred to me as "doctor", it really took me by surprise.

"Maru, I-"

"Don't say anything, let's just focus on Y/N, that's what really matters for you, isn't it?" "Okay..."

So we spent the whole night checking on Y/N, their lips were regaining that pink color after some blood transfusions, and they were going to be fine.

"I'll take the rest of the day off, doctor." Said Maru rushing out to the door. "Okay, take c-" but before I could finish my sentence, she was gone... I don't know why, but this whole situation made me feel it was my fault, it was my fault Y/N got hurt and Maru got hurt because of me... I realized I was just a weak man with just a simple diploma... Nothing out of the extraordinary...
