"W-well what is it?" I gulp. What happened?
"First, I have to say, I'm so so so so sorry." Theo begins to cry. "That was Ruth. She was the one I had the drunken mistake with. I didn't even know. Now, she's pregnant. With my baby." Theo's full on sobbing, as so I am.
"What? B-but I'm pregnant with your baby." I cry. How did this happen? Why did this happen?
"I'm so sorry Shailene. But I have to be there for her. I can't just abandon my child." I feel fury. He can't abandon his child. But what about our child?
"You jerk! What about our child?! Huh! He/she needs their father! You are not going! I will not let you." I don't care if I'm being selfish.
Theo rubs at his face, looking distressed. "Shai-"
"If you go see her, we are done." I say sternly.
"Fine. Fine." Theo looks skeptical. Which makes me suspicious.
"Promise me."
"I promise."
