Sneaking out was not unknown amongst the children of the Omaticaya but in the time of great war it was not ideal.

It was not safe to be in the forest, especially so close to eclipse but it was the only time they had to spend together.

The group of teenagers walked near a river, wanting to play in the water for a bit.

Tuk ran into the water with a happy laugh, pulling Neteyam along with her.

Zö'ilen couldn't stop thinking about what had occurred that night. Her siblings were held at gunpoint ready to be killed or used to get to their father.

She had a hard time coming to terms with admiting she was terrified but also furious that she had let it happen. She should have killed him, even if it killed her on the spot. It was better than her family having to suffer.

Zö'ilen's eyes stranded on Lo'ak and Neteyam, who play fought in the water while Tuk splashed around closer to the rocks.

She didn't know what she would do if she lost one of them. It was too much of a pain to even think about, but the fear always lingered in the back of her mind like an itch that wouldn't go away.
