The night was a canvas of silent darkness, illuminated only by the gentle glow of the bioluminescent flora.
Zö'ilen found solace in the ethereal light, her nerves settling as the vibrant hues wrapped around her like a comforting embrace. This hidden forest had become her refuge—a secret world where she could escape the chaos and reconnect with the part of herself she was forced to put behind her.

"I was hoping you'd wake up," the voice said from behind her, its tone laced with humor.
Zö'ilen didn't bother to turn around, there was no need. The voice, the accent—it was all too familiar. "Glad to know you weren't hoping for my demise," she replied, her words clipped, sarcasm barely masking the tension still coiled in her.
