Ophelia's POV
(don't be a silent reader<3)I'm finishing my shift at the job in a bookstore in half an hour.
I asked my boss to give me more days of work to get more money for my living expenses. Thank god she agreed.
Now I'll be working for more than half of the day for two or three days a week. It's going to be more days of hard work here.
At least, I'll have money to pay my dorm rent and buy food. That's all I need.
"It's been ages since we got a chance to work on the same shift together" Asra says as she takes new books out of the boxes.
"Yeah, I missed you" I help her with the books.
"Me too" she gives me a smile. "Now I want updates about your college life" Asra turns to me.
"What do you want to know?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Um...like about something that happened since the last time we met?" Asra takes a few books and puts them on the shelf.
"There's a bunch of things that happened" I mumble.
"Really? Then spill" she scratches her nose.
"If you say so. I'll try to make it quick" I lift a box full of fresh books and put it on the chair. This way it will be more comfortable to reach them, as we put them on the shelf.
"The biggest news of my life is that I moved out of my mother's house" I announce.
"For real? Are you serious?" Asra's jaw drops.
"Absolutely" I nod.
"That's amazing, right?" she steps closer to me. She seems to be excited about the news. "I hope it's not because your mom threw you out of her house" she narrows her eyebrows.
"Nah, she didn't" I lie. My mother told me clearly that she wants me gone.
"Thank god..." Asra sighs.
"I was waiting for this day" I look down before continuing with my life updates.
"Next thing, I took a break from ice skating" I spill.
"What? No way. Why would you do that?" Asra puts her hands on my shoulders.
"It's your hobby. You're breathing on ice, so why?" she has so many questions.
I actually ask myself these questions every day, but it leads me to one answer.
"I'm not ready to be back" I say. "I don't feel great inside to work on this sport now"
"Oh, I see. I'm sorry" Asra pats my shoulder.
"Don't be. I'll be okay" I give her a smile. "So the last big ass update on my life is that Arden and me are no longer enemies. We are friends now" I look at my coworker and friend to see her reaction to the thing I just said.
"Holy cow-" she pauses, stares at me and then says- "I knew it" points at me.
"Huh? You knew what?" I'm confused.
