Kellin's POV
"W-what do you mean she isn't my daughter?"
"Well... About three years ago, I went out with some friends and I met Luke in a bar. I got really really drunk and one thing led to another... I just figured it was easier if I told you she was yours." I can't believe this is happening. I feel my eyes swell up with tears, but I try to blink them away. "Were you just going to let me believe she was mine?"
"Well... Not at first, but then I saw how you feel in love with her, I couldn't bring myself to do it."
"I can't believe this, Katelynn! God. I thought you were crazy before, but now I know you're fucking insane!" I screamed at her. She was tearing up too, "Kellin, you don't need to yell..."
"Jesus Christ! I raised her! I took her shopping. I changed her diapers. Everyone said she looks just like me."
"Kellin I'm so-"
"Save it. I don't want to hear it, you crazy bitch." Then I got out of there before I could say anything else I would regret.
My first instinct was to go to Vic's house. I get there and I explain everything to him. "Holy shit... That's insane..."
"I don't know what to do. I loved that little girl so much. She was my daughter, you know?" Then, I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. They just started coming out. Vic pulled me into a hug and my head rested on his shoulder, soaking it with tears. He stroked my hair in an attempt to calm me down, and it sort of worked. "Well did you and Katelynn... You know... Around the time she told you she was pregnant?"
"Yeah probably."
"I doubt she got a paternity test, its Katelynn we're talking about." Yes! That's true! "You're right, Vic! I'm texting Katelynn now!"
Me: I want a paternity test.
Katelynn: Okay. She probably is your daughter... Hopefully...Later that day, I took the test. Vic and I were waiting in the lobby for the results. It was said to take ten minutes. Vic squeezed my hand for support. He's been there right beside me through it all. We've had our ups and downs, but we stuck together. The doctor walked out of a set of doors, holding an envelope. "Mr. Bostwick?"
"That's me..."
"I have your results." I grabbed the envelope, knowing this one piece of paper will impact my life forever. I opened the envelope, containing a piece of paper with the words You are not the father written on them. I feel like I'm living an episode of Maury. The tears came flooding back. I stormed out of there, with Vic chasing me. "Kellin! Kellin, wait! It doesn't help now, but I promise everything will be okay." I turned around to face him, he didn't deserve what would happen next, it wasn't right of me to take out my anger on him, "No, Vic. It doesn't. It doesn't even help a little bit. God, I'm so tired of everything, I feel like I can't trust anyone!" His face said it all, he was hurt, but even so he said, "You can trust me, Kellin. I know you're going through a difficult time, once you're better, I'll be here."
"Vic, I know you're trying to help, but please just take me home."
"Okay. Lets go."
Once we pulled up, and I opened the car door, Vic stopped me, "What if... What if we adopted a baby?"
"V-Vic that sounds amazing. Can we talk about this when I'm not emotionally vulnerable?"
"Sure sweetie. Oh and Kellin, I love you."
"I love you too."Salut, readers! Quick shoutout to my committed readers who have stuck with me through it all! You know who you are. Let me know what you think! Vote, comment, follow.
