~Kellin's POV~
"So do you want a boy or girl?", Vic asked me."Uh either one is fine. Just as long as he or she is healthy and happy, I'm happy."
"Oh come on, Kellin! You have to have a preference!"
"A boy maybe?" Vic smiled at me, it was apparent he agreed. It'd always dreamed of raising a little boy. "Are we going to get a little Mexican boy?"I said, teasingly. "CAN WE PLEASE?!?!?" The funny part was, I could tell he was being totally serious. I have a feeling he'd been seriously considering adopting a Mexican kid.
"Mr. Fuentes and Mr. Bostwick." An adoption specialist called our names to discuss our child. We walked into her office and sat at the chairs across from her. "Hi, I'm Kimberly Rose, adoption agent." She was looking at us (especially Vic) with a really judgy look. But, as usual, Vic played it off, "Hi, I'm Vic and this is my fiancée Kellin." He extended his hand for her to shake. "What a gorgeous ring." It took me a second to realize she was talking to me, "Oh thank you."
"So, I see you want to adopt a baby." Her eyes were practically fixed on Vic's long hair and nose piercing. "Yes we do. We assure you, the baby will be in great hands." I said, attempting to take some pressure off of Vic. "Is there any preferences on gender or race?"
"Do a lot of people, ask for a uh, certain race?" Vic said, probably embarrassed to admit he wants a Mexican baby. Kimberly laughed and said, "Its not uncommon for families to ask for babies who show some resemblance to them. So don't feel weird if you decide on maybe a half Latino half Caucasian baby."
"That sounds great." Vic isn't really good under pressure, so I think I'm going to have to take over so he doesn't unintentionally ruin this. "But, if you don't have that, we aren't like racist if that's how we're coming off." She typed something into her computer and said, "Do you mind me asking what country your family is from?"
"Vic. She's talking to you." I whispered. "Oh right sorry. I'm just kinda nervous. Uh Mexico." Then she typed something else and said, "Okay the only half Mexican half Caucasian babies we have in the system are twins, a boy and a girl. Dominic and Alexandria. Are twins an issue, we can split them up if that's what you decide." Before Vic could make any rash decisions, I said, "Could we have a minute to talk about it?" She got the hint abd left the room. "Okay Vic, what do we do? Do we just adopt the boy? And split him up from his sister?" He thought about it for a second and said, "We need to take them up."
"I was really hoping you would say that." A few minutes later, Kimberly walked back in, "Have you make a decision?" Vic laced his fingers into mine and said, "We would like to adopt them both." She flashed a huge smile and said, "Great. There's just a few papers that need filled out, and also, Child's Services will have to come to the home that the children will live in and see if its suitable for children." So basically we filled out a bunch of papers. Nothing exciting.
I had just gotten home from going grocery shopping, and as we were loading the groceries into the cabinets and the fridge, the doorbell rang. Vic opened it and a man in a suit walked in, introducing himself to us. "Hello I am James Reid with Child Protective Services. I'm here to evaluate your home's suitablity for twins."
"Be my guest." He started walking around the house. "Very lovely home you have, Mr. and uh, Mr. Fuentes." Mr. Fuentes. "Thank you sir." I followed Vic and the man up the stairs and James said, "So where will the children be sleepjng?" Shit. I never thought of to ask Vic about that. But apparently, he'd already thought about it, because he led us with confidence to the guest room. "We thought this could be the boy's room, I was never told the names."
"Dominic and Alexandria."
"What?"
"Their names are Dominic and Alexandria." Dominic and Alexandria Fuentes. "And the girl, Alexandria, could stay in this room." He walked over to the office and said, "Obviously we can clear this out, but still."
"Okay gentlemen, you make a very strong argument. Your incomes are good and your house is lovely. I think you should have your children by the end of the month. Congratulations, gentlemen." He left and Vic started to tear up. I did too, and I pulled him into a hug and forced out the words, "Dominic and Alexandria Fuentes."Hey! Thanks for reading! I'm thinking there'll be two more chapters before the end of the book.
