pancakes and the soccer ball

"Pancakes".

"PANCAKES!" I jumped up with joy as I dashed past Louis and downstairs to get breakfast, where I saw Mr and Mrs Partridge in the kitchen, cooking. "Well, good morning Y/N! How did you sleep?" Mrs Partridge asked. "I slept very well, thank you for having me!" I replied. "Our pleasure, come get your pancakes!" And so I did.

The pancakes were delicious, and I was starving. They were drizzled with maple syrup, thickened cream which had been whipped by hand and a wide range of berries. As I was eating, I couldn't help but notice Louis staring at me. "What, is there something on my face?" I asked. He snorted. "No, it's nothing." I went back to eating before Millie approached me and tapped me on the shoulder. "I am trying to eat peacefully," I stated. "Didn't you see Louis staring at you?" She sounded very excited. "Yes, I did, and i'm pretty sure there's just pancake on my face." Millie shrugged. "If you say so." Of course, I was confused. There was something on my face... right?

A few minutes later, I heard the doorbell ring. "I've got it!" Louis yelled as he dashed towards the door. From the kitchen, I could hear the voice of my mum saying

"Hi Louis! I'm here dropping of Y/N's gear- she's training with you isn't she?"

To which Louis replied, "Yeah, she is," I got up from my seat and strolled over to the front door. "Hi mum!"

"Hi sweetie, I am so sorry about your cousins. Can I come in and thank Liz and James for having you over?" My mum asked. "They have already left for work, but don't worry, Y/N is in good hands." For some reason, my mum found that funny, as she started laughing hysterically. I wasn't amused, and my mum obviously noticed. "I'll go get your stuff from the car, Y/N," She gestured. "Thanks!" I implied. While she was gone, Louis turned to me and smirked.

"Someones embarrassed," he said. I sighed. "And why would you say that, exactly?" Louis' smile became broader. "Because I'm here," That boy should be grateful that he didn't end up in hospital, because with the strength and force that I used to slap his arm, I wouldn't be surprised if it actually happened. I was saved though when my mum came back with a bag full of my gear.

-------------------------------------------------------

I was in the bathroom, changing into my soccer gear. I threw on my Beckham jersey, blue soccer shorts, blue socks and shin pads and shoes from Nike. Once I was ready, I went over to Millie to tell her I was leaving, and she asked if I could come back to her house after. "Sure!" I answered. I headed back downstairs to see Louis, William and Alfie standing at the door. "What took you so long?" William asked. "Didn't you just arrive?" I replied. William shrugged, and I think that shut him up. I had known William and Alfie for a while too, because I had met them multiple times at the Partridge family get togethers which we all always went to.

"Come on, I'm driving." Said Alfie. The three of us followed behind Alfie to his car, which was a large, black Land Rover. Pretty fancy if you asked me. William sat in the front seat, and Louis and I sat in the back. Throughout the drive, I could feel his hand briskly touch mine multiple times, but I thought nothing of it.

When we arrived at the soccer pitch, everyone unloaded their things out of the car and onto the pitch. It was completely empty, luckily. We started off with some simples stretches ands warm ups, then we did some cone drills. I could've sworn that I caught William staring at me, but maybe I was hallucinating. After we had finished with our stretches, we progressed to cone drills. Then we did some game scenarios, and Alfie was in goals the whole time because that was his main position. I was right wing as per usual, and Louis was always left wing while William was striker. Again, every time I scored a goal I noticed William eyeing me down, and I have to say it made me a bit uncomfortable. I think Louis noticed, because he said "I'm tired, let's end training for the day." Everyone agreed, and we gathered up our stuff and headed back to the car.

Since Louis lives the closest, we were the first to be dropped off as I was heading back to his house. Then Alfie drove William home. I was sweating and out of water, so I was very excited to get back to Millie and Louis' house. Millie was the one to welcome me home, and she suggested we watch a movie. "Sure!" I exclaimed as we sat on the couch. I sat in between Louis and Millie as we scrolled through Netflix looking for a movie. Finally, we decided on a rom com which none of us had seen before.

-------------------------------------------------------

About an hour into the movie, I started to get a bit bored. I was laying my head down, and before I realised it, my head was resting on Louis' shoulder. Louis was looking down at me, and in this situation I didn't know what to do. I jumped up out of my seat and ran out of the room.

I don't know what made me do it, but I was nervous and in shock. I shouldn't have left, but I was frozen in fear and unsure of what to do. I ran into Millie's room and shut the door. I sat on my mattress unaware of what I had just done. God dammit, this would cause a heap of unnecessary problems and it's all my fault. As I sat on the bed, I could faintly hear footsteps making their way towards the door. It slowly creeped open to reveal Millie, still with the remote in hand.

"Millie, I am so sorry-" I tried to talk without tearing up. "I didn't mean to, it just happened!"

"Don't worry Y/N, it's okay," Millie reassured me. "Don't worry, my parents wouldn't mind if you stay another night." She offered. "It's alright, it would be a little awkward between me and Lou. I might just go home, if that's OK." Thankfully, Millie was very caring about it. "All good Y/N. I'll see you at school on Monday!"

Ugh, school. I go to North Wandsworth high school with Millie and Louis. I'm in my 3rd last there along with Louis who is in his final year, and Millie is in 9th grade. School sucks. I'm failing all of my classes except for English, art and music, as well as PE. And the only friends I have at school are Millie and Louis. Louis hangs out with other boys such as Williams and Alfie, while I stick around with Millie. I only see her during lunch and recess because we have no classes together. I take private guitar lessons after school every Thursday, and Ballet on Saturday and Tuesday so I have a full schedule.

"Alright Millie! I'm gonna apologise to Louis on my way out."

"Goodluck with that..." she said.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing... I'll just see you at school. Bye Y/N!"

"Bye mills!"

I was heading down the stairs to the living room where I last saw Louis, but he wasn't there. Just his mother. "If you're looking for Louis, he left about five minutes ago." I was heartbroken. How could I do this? Sure, i'm not the nicest person, but i'm not that mean...
