Chapter 13

The day was crazy but after finally getting rid of those kids by explaining that no, they couldn't borrow Ricky for an experiment, whatever the hell they wanted to do to that goddamn Rooster.

And after Harley left and promised not to tell her parents or anyone about them, Y/n was finally on the couch eating popcorn while watching a movie.

Ricky was with her since she suspected that those kids would get him.

Deet was in the barn with Hup, connecting with the horse and cat, Rian and Gurjin were at the small pond where the mystics were, Kylan was out in the grass watching the hens, and Naia climbing the giant tree.

The three vaprans were in the house exploring.

Y/n was extremely bored, her new job doesn't start until tomorrow and trying to find entertainment besides watching the Tv or the mystics doing some ritual stuff was like trying to go exercise on Monday but you forget all about it.

Y/n hummed in pondering, before realizing that November was near its end and December was rising up to consume everything it touches.

Y/n cursed as soon as she heard the dreaded Mariah Carey 'All I want for Christmas'. She turned off the Tv.

"NOPE I AM NOT GOING TO HEAR THAT SONG!! Nope!" Said Y/n as she stood up and gone upstairs, finally having motivation to go do something.

SkekLach grabbed the remote and turned on the Tv.

Y/n gone up to the attic and started to rummaged through everything.

Until she found just what she needed to cure her boredom, a 10,000 puzzle.

After getting the box and finding the perfect place to set the pieces down, she got to it.

Brea was the first one to come and see what she was doing and joined in and they started a conversation.

"So how are you doing with this new environment Brea?" Asked Y/n.

"Besides all of the Skeksis that are gathered in your living room and trying not to get into any trouble, it's alright to say the least." Said Brea as she found the lower left corner piece and set it down.

"Yup they are a piece of work, if I do say so myself, trying to stop them for wrecking the place, feed them, and stopping their bickering like toddlers." Y/n snickered at the thought.

Brea scooted a bit closer, putting another piece to a growing amount of puzzle pieces.

"Tavra and Seladon have been staying with the mystics a lot more than staying inside with the Lor- Skeksis." Said Brea, shaking her head a bit like trying to get rid of a habit before rummaging through the pile of pieces, looking for a matching piece.

"I already know the reason and I don't blame them, you gelfling had experienced much hardships against the Skeksis." Said Y/n as she looked in satisfaction at the growing right corner, so far the puzzle was getting better, much more recognizable.

"Still though, I really enjoy the time we have recently spent together." Chirped Brea as she happily put down another piece hearing a small click.

"I enjoy it as well Brea, but still it is a pain that the SkekSis are hiding some stuff from me, they mentioned that I don't really remember them, what is that about?" Asked Y/n aloud, Brea paused a bit looking at Y/n like she was trying to make sure of something before resuming her task.

"I don't know what they are talking about." Said Brea.

"Exactly, if I do remember then it must've been some traumatic stuff because my brain just hurts just thinking about it." Joked Y/n letting out a pleased hum after finding three pieces that correctly connected the outer wall of the puzzle piece.

Brea didn't respond.

Y/n yawned stretching out an arm and popping it before she felt satisfied and ready to get more puzzle pieces.

Deet entered and noticed at the puzzle.

"Are you putting together a puzzle? Can I join?" Asked Deet, y/n welcomed her and Deet was excitedly rummaging through the remaining pieces and trying so hard to get the pieces to their correct location even though she was doing it upside down.

Y/n bended backwards, feeling her back hurting, she sighed in satisfaction before realizing it was night time.

She checked her phone and noticed that it was 10:36, she really needed to go to bed.

Y/n grabbed the shotgun and headed upstairs, she wasn't letting the Skeksis go haywire with a gun, not when there was gelfling around.

As she opened the door, she felt her neck hairs raising up, like someone was here, Y/n looked over at the closet and opened it to see Amri snoozing in the darkest corner.

Huh, Grottans really like the dark, Y/n thought before turning her heels to put up the shotgun before noticing her window was open and noticeable claw marks.

Cue Y/n now being suspicious of her room.

Y/n quickly turned around and saw a pair of yellow eyes before everything went hazy and all she heard was the sound of her shotgun and the sounds of squealing metal being stabbed multiple times.

"Huh...... That's why Ruby wanted to borrow my shotgun to scare off those assholes." Said Y/n before dragging the body out of the room and packing it up in a box before heading to sleep, finally getting her much needed sleep.
