Anyways, hope you enjoy!

It always perplexed him why Seraphina ever hung out with John. Of course they were both high tiers and nothing was unusual for people with similar ranks to hang out. But their friendship started with the knowledge that John was a cripple.

Cripples must commute with their own kind, while high tiers must commute with theirs. This unspoken rule is so that order can be kept in our society, a rule that both of them knew. So then why did they become friends?

He doesn't know and he'll probably never find the answer to this question. But he enjoys theorizing and figuring out some mysteries, and this is a mystery in itself.

The reason as to why he is thinking of this in the first place is because of the recent visits with Seraphina to Valerie's house. Truth be told these visits were not fully fueled by Valerie wanting for John's behavior to improve.

The other reason from what Valerie has told him is that he must report about John. It's nothing weird, just telling Valerie about his interactions with John. More specifically how he acts and his answers to questions that Valerie asks him to ask. He doesn't understand why he must do this, but Valerie always has a reason for these actions so he does them.

...

He should probably question Valerie and her actions more often, especially because of what Remi has told him. But doing such a thing as reporting on John doesn't seem bad and he thinks that Valerie might help John with his obvious problems.

Anyways, he should focus on the reason he even decided to visit Valerie in the first place.

Investigate.

Of course he doesn't want to believe Remi's statements fully yet, but current information is showing a harsh reality. That the Authorities are Ember and that Valerie is part of it. Part of people that kill vigilantes. He doesn't really understand vigilantes' actions and such but there are still people. And murder is unjust, so why would Valerie do such a thing?

He doesn't know and that's what he aims to find out.

It's been about a month and a half since he has seen Dad. He doesn't want to be pessimistic or anything but at the rate everything that was going it seemed like he wouldn't be seeing Dad for a while. That's because he asked Valeire if he could visit, which was answered as a no. More specifically that they were not allowing visits, which sucked. Maybe he could call him or something if that is even allowed.

Anyways let's talk about something more optimistic.

...

Oh!

Now that he thinks about it he used his ability in a fight today and let's just say it was strange. Valerie didn't get hurt and he didn't feel that feeling. Of course he still felt really anxious as fuck and after the fight he was shaking but that was irrelevant because he did it!

He fucking did it!

He fought with his ability without hurting anyone and won. I mean it wasn't the most intense fight ever and they were both wearing gear for protection. But it still counts.

Talking about his ability he's also been practicing on his other part, the invisibility one, in the nearby park. And let's just say the progress was frustratingly slow.

First few times he couldn't even fucking summon it, so many hours were spent just standing with his eyes closed, ability active, in the middle park. He's glad there aren't many people that visit the park during school time, but there are still some parents and kids playing on the playground that stare at him weirdly. He mostly just leaves when that happens because he can't focus when there are eyes on him.
